Gacha is the best way to get the most coveted loot, namely White Scrolls or Chaos Scrolls. White Scrolls come from NLC, along with good items like 10% and 60% scrolls, some 30% scrolls, Verzel materials, and summoning sacks (area boss sacks); these hold great value during anniversary and New Year events. Chaos Scrolls come from the Mushroom Shrine, along with many 30% and 70% scrolls. But keep in mind, it all depends on your RNG—it's just like playing a slot machine. In my opinion, you need 150k NX for 175 tickets to try your luck. If you don't get the best loot, you might spend another 150k to see if it pays off; however, if you still get nothing, it's best to wait a month or two before trying again. But if you want mesos quickly, buy APRs instead, since Gacha can be very stressful—spending a lot of NX in the cities and getting nothing but junk instead of White Scrolls or Chaos Scrolls. It’s up to you to decide which option suits you best.
In the long term, gacha will net you more mesos per nx. In Mushroom shrine, even when you go under rate on chaos Scrolls you generally still make more than with APR. For low numbers of gacha tickets it can feel really bad not to get anything worth much though. But APR has less variance so if you want to play it safe I'd go for those, plus you don't need to keep up a store for a while to sell everything.
APR is a safer approach and generally especially after cs/ws price dropped it also probably more profitable now (on average)
