So I finally got a new acoustic guitar. The one I've been playing is about 20 years old, originally like 50 dollars and is scratched and bruised. The set up is way off, my dad fucked with it in an "attempt to fix it," and the fret board is atrocious. I have no idea how to restring acoustics, and since Guitarcenter upped the price for a setup+string change 30 dollars more (now 60) I couldn't be fucked. Not to mention the intonation on the high E string is completely whack. I mean, it starts fucking up by the third fret. Can't even play a freaking G-D-C progression without having an offset tuning pattern on the high E to compensate for the G note. Regardless, here are some pictures. See if you can guess which one is new. Spoiler
Sexy steel string luke ! Fender is a trust worthy brand for guitars. I learnt to re-string acoustics through Youtube. It's actually pretty simple and it saves you a whole heap of money because you don't have to keep bringing it in to a guitar shop all the time. Anyways I want to hear you play some time, post some videos of your awesome playing around forums!
