I downloaded the setup on windows, did everything default setting, then when i click on the shortcut on desktop, which looks like a page instead of the maplestory icon, it says windows is searching for royalmaple exe, to locate this file please browse. And if i look under compatibility under properties, it just says the name 'C:\Program Files (86x) MapleRoyals\mapleroyals.exe' specified in thetarget box is not valid, make sure the path and file name are correct
Sounds like something went wrong during the download/installation...I would try downloading/running the setup again.
i did that multiple times, i think i might have windows 8, if that has to do with anything, is there anything i can do
I have windows 8, so I don't believe it's that. (Btw you can upgrade to Windows 8.1 for free in the app store.) Try disabling any antivirus software you may have, even ones built-in to Windows like Windows Firewall. Then try downloading the setup again.
I tried that, didnt work for me, i check the compatibility, it said the specified path does not contain a valid program, please select a valid program(ending with .exe.) theres not a launcher or exe. app in my folder, its just a shortcut on the desktop, is that the problem?
If the exe is missing it means that it was deleted upon download/installation. This is usually caused by antivirus software. Happened to me, too! :[
