I DC from zakum during only two things:
    1. Server Crash
    2. 3rd body (sometimes)

Patterns I've seen across many, many runs to cause my DC:
    1. hero is in squad AND has a pet out (maybe it could be the type of pet)

I only DC during 3rd body, if there's a hero who has a pet out. I'm not sure
if I dc with a Dark Night or Paladin who has a pet out.

Looking for possible solutions to prevent my DC.
Yes I GFX after 2nd body dies, and during 3rd body. One time I gfx'ed 7 times in 3rd body but still dc'ed with warrior + pet.

I tried vmware, and different versions of it. It's complete trash: horrible lag, graphical and sound problems with VMware.
Is there a parallels version I could install on windows 8.1, or some virtual machine that runs WELL anyone can suggest?
I am willing to try un-free software.

I have windows 8.1, nvidia gtx 670 (forum search told me that nvidia gpu may cause the crash).
Disabling my nvidia gpu, or force using integrated graphics card for MapleRoyals process is not an option.

Run in Windows 7 compatibility mode. I haven't tried it myself, but it's supposed to help with zakum DCs. If that doesn't work the free version of VMWare with Windows 7 or XP should work.

I tried the free vmware version on tim's HT guide + windows xp, and most recent version of vmware + windows xp:
both gave me tremendous lag, graphics, sound problems

Are you allocating enough HD space and RAM for the vm? I've had sound issues but none of the other issues you're having.

I happen to have built a computer with 16GB ram lol, so I allocated 512mb ram to vmware first, then had horrendous problems.
So I reisntalled vmware with 1gb ram and still had the same problem

i used 30gb for the HD
Edit: nvm, 40 gb for the HD (just checked)

HD should be fine, I use 2 gb of ram so see if that helps.

allocated 4GB for the ram and it fixed the sound and lag issues almost completely haha.

    Now for the graphical problem:
If I fullscreen maplestory, it leaves me with a small maplestory window in my screen in the middle of my monitor.
I can't force fullscreen maplestory in vmware, even if I change resolution.

I think it has to do with the native resolution of my monitor, any fix for this?

    Already tried:
-I used 3rd party software to force fullscreen a windowed maplestory and it makes text almost not legible.
-changing resolution in vmware accessing resolution option from the desktop
