I do miss going through a full LPQ run. I know it's not "time effective" or whatever (or maybe half of it is glitched?) but it was still fun for me back then and probably would be now. Also red drakes. I recently figured out they're not in Perion anymore...or in the game, really. I think.
And one more thing!! LMPQ. That was my main PQ to go to and I think they removed it from GMS for some unknown reason?

    Ant Tunnel grind.

Selling literally everything I possessed and my soul so I could get a set of steelys and feel fucking amazing about myself.

Reaching lv 30 was the fucking milestone I never thought I'd reach omg. My job adv felt mystical as fak.

Taking a ship to Orbis for the first time I felt like I was going on a real holiday.

Watching high level people take on C.Balrog on ship like 'WOW I WANT TO DO THAT'.

Seeing a DK coming into Hene map (back when it was OVER populated) and spamming Dragon Roar on mobs like 'WOW WDF THAT'S HAX I WANT THAT'.

Being scared of the stage in Ludi PQ where the invisible mobs who you see with their eyes only roam around you and you gotta kill them. I was a pussy back then.

    I miss...

Partying with a group of friends at Grims, Vikings, Squids, Gobies, ect.

Back then, every character had a specific role and a section of the map to cover. You would rarely see any priest just afk leech and give hs.

The maps in vikings, squids, and gobies are designed brilliantly IMO. What a shame that it is overshadowed by a brain dead map like Wolf Spiders or Himes or Ulu.
There were even party threads where people can sign up for a party. There was a strong sense of unity in these parties...

    Good times.

I miss partying at dual ghost ships, like leoye123 said, those map were designed to have different characters on the platforms.

WARNING! FEELS ARE AHEAD. DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO FEELS

Apoliges if this comes off as a jumble of thoughts. I dont do feelings well

#1 thing I miss most from old Maple was my first friend. Had it not been for her, I dont think I would have been able to handle many of the personal, and emotional issues I had to deal with for a long time, that I still deal with in some fashion to this day.

I met her in a guild I had joined after my prior guild went belly up. She was a mid 60's Priest and I was a mid 60's Assassin. It started as a few jokes that were thrown around picking on each other. But from joke slinging we would eventually forge a bond that would see us do literally everything in and out of game together for the next 3 years. She was my sidekick. My best friend that I didnt even know IRL. But we had something special. There was never one without the other. I wasnt the best friend however. I had some really bad emotional issues caused by some serious depression.. I often lashed out at her in jealousy and spite. I would say things that any normal person would never speak to you again over. But she stuck by my side. And in the end she was as important and close to me as anyone I've ever met. I never got a chance to truly thank her for putting up with all of my issues. In November of 2008 she passed away after battling ovarian cancer for over 2 years. I had no idea. It wasnt until she was so sick she couldnt log on anymore that she finally told me. Our relationship was never romantic. It was purely two people who had such a strong connection that its never been recaptured by anyone since.

I had tried several times to return to Maplestory to relive those days but as time had gone by the game gradually became unrecognizable to what I remembered and things were just not the same. It wasnt until the end of July this year that I stumbled acrossed Royals by complete accident.

The thing about Royals is that it keeps to the old school Maple theme. It puts me back in a time period when I just began to know my friend. Its been 7 years since I last spoke to my her, but she sticks with me to this day, In and out of game. I'm a better man thanks to her.

When I was about 10 or 11 I remember having like 30+ random sheets of paper all with 3 columns all filled with player names for tracking while they were inside Kerning PQ. Sometimes I used to go through like 100+ names until I'd find someone online/inside. The good old days, I made a lot of friends doing this tracking stuff back in the day... oh and at some point everyone had an auto-clicker and had it fixated on the npc to enter KPQ as well, was always so intense and crowded but great nostalgia hanging around with a full map of people. :D

Heh, I did a bunch of full LPQs a few days ago

I dunno, I started playing in September or October of 2006, there's plenty of stuff to miss
The experience rate probably isn't one of them, though

-the first "fm" was perion ch1
-people would wait at mushmoms, noobs and people who could actually kill her
-the 80 zombie maps were the best training spots
    -no level 70 items
-evil wings was the best mage item in the game but it was insanely hard to find (werewolf + jr balrog) so most mages used cromis
-pig beach, henesys hunting ground 1
-icemages had red drakes @ dangerous valley 2(steelies omg), clerics had zombies, firemages had...jr yetis T.T
-after ludi was releashed death teddies were the best exp for for a few levels since you could stand on their left side and attack and their missiles wouldn't hit you
-same thing with vikings possibly? i remember you could stand on their left or right or both and their cannons would go over your head and wouldn't hit
-smuggling orbis pq with the 5 statues f3
-jr newties were really popular and ppl leeched there instead of skeles

I miss hacking and having to find new hacks every single update. It was like a subculture of GMS unto itself. Every hacker seemed to have the same training spots no matter what class, but the best part about hacking was vaccing items during drop game.

I think everyone's already listed a lot of the things from back in the good ole times, but the thing I miss the most is just how social everyone was. Back then, it wasn't all about grinding 24/7 (for most people), so it was always fun to talk to people on ships and in Henesys. The friends I made on MS back then and coming together to make guilds and just have fun is something I won't forget. It's what made the game so special to me, and it's crazy to think it was so long ago now. Man, I'm being really nostalgic right now.

I liked OPQ. Hoping to see it working with the release of the new source or shortly after.

Ohhh, I miss the "Bigfoot Police", they were a bunch of guys in Broa. D/C-hacking and ks-ing everyone and anyone who tried to kill BF or HH without their permission :D

Good old days, they had a lot of work because of me...

Zruns and making a lot of splits with a whole table on a forum on which guilds ran at which time in the server. Guild KS wars. I guess with both, it's more of a guild pride thing that made it fun and more competitive.
