Hey guys, so I'm pretty new to maplestory in general so I kind of need some help. A friend of mine told me to build full intelligence on my mage. I am doing that, but I'm wondering what happens later in the game since I can't use many of the staffs and wands. I know I can use maple items, but what do I use before I get maple items and after I'm too high of a level for them. The same for clothings and all. I'm really nooby so sorry if it's hard to understand and please try your best to help in a way I can understand
I suggest taking a look at the F/P and I/L guides, as they both touch on the reasons Lukless is better than luk mages.
You basically use maple weapons until you can use elemental wands. Umbrellas can also be decent for lukless mages. You don't get to switch weapons as often, but being pure int makes up for it. For me it's usually: Wooden Wand -> Maple Staff -> Maple Lama Staff -> Maple Shine Wand / Maple Wisdom Staff -> Elemental Wand (70) -> Elemental Wand (130)

Thanks for all the advice! Just a few more questions, how do you get elemental wands? And where/what monsters would be best to farm for lukless mages? (Preferably don't use abbreviations as I'm still trying to figure out all the abbreviations in this game aha)
Easiest way to get elemental wands will be buy it from people in FM (free market in the game. Click the green "trade" button on the lower right corner, or just go find it in many of the cities). Switch to channel 1 or 2, go into FM rooms and you'll see shops setup by other players selling all kinds of stuff.
