Finished muh draft. Got 2nd pick overall, as the RNG gods were smiling. I did have two instances of the person before me taking the player I was planning on taking, so I had to improvise a few times.

Alas, here is my squad. I actually feel pretty good.

Wait, that team is really good, were you drafting with idiots? I personally wouldn't have taken Peterson, that's just my own personal opinion since he didn't play at all last year and is getting up there in age he's gotta go downhill eventually, but nonetheless he's arguably the number one pick (personally I love Jamaal Charles). You have 3 top WRs, Maclin was probably a great value mid-late round pick because of the uncertainty in Kansas City. Tony Romo is another great value pick IMO, he's vastly underrated and usually falls late into the draft. I'm not sure if you're in a PPR league but if you are then Forte was a great pick, though he's another aging RB that isn't going to last forever (not to be negative. Greg Olson is coming off of his best offensive year, and he was already a dangerous threat prior. With Kelvin Benjamin injured he's going to be Newton's favorite target. I personally don't take much stock in defense since I change my defense weekly depending on matchup so I can't really comment there.

    You did a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^ Thanks XD I don't know if they're idiots, but some of them didn't do much pre-draft "research" (and by research, I mean all I did was browse Rotoworld forums and look at ADPs). I love Jamaal (and that's not even the KC bias talking), but the guy who went first swooped him up. Honestly, it seems that all of the top 5 RBs have little red flags. Jamaal's usage decreased last year + age. Lacy has concussions + injured receivers (might stack the box against him). AP has the year off (which is arguably a positive, but also age). Bell's suspension. And Marshawn - well, he is beastmode, but every year I feel like "okay, he's going to take it too far and hurt himself." And yeah, I worry about Forte as well, but he fell to me in the 9th pick of the second round, and it seemed like a decent gamble to take, given the other RBs/WRs that were still on the board. And it's 0.25 PPR, so very little will come out of the many catches he is sure to have.

I learned the importance of value-picking for sure. I got Andre Ellington in the 7th (after taking him in the 4th last year -__-) which felt like a steal. Everyone only looked at the numbers (which, frankly, weren't even THAT bad) and didn't realize he was playing injured the whole season and missing his main QB. Now that he's 100% with a slightly better O-line and Carson Palmer finally back behind the helm, he's a huge bounce-back candidate (barring injury). Maclin was another steal, which was surprising - given that everyone in my league is from KC, I figured more people would be targeting him. I don't know how many Chiefs games you watched (other than the one vs the Dolphins, I bet), but the WR touchdown-drought thing last year was a fluke. It led everyone to think that Alex Smith doesn't throw downfield, which wasn't exactly the case - While it was true that Smith didn't like taking chances, it wasn't because "that's just how he is," - it's because his best receiver in Dwayne Bowe was extremely untalented at breaking coverage from the pro CBs that were put on him. Now that he has an honest-to-god talented WR, he's going to start taking chances again (his first pass of the first preseason was a long bomb down the field - incomplete, but extremely encouraging to see). People thought "why should I take Maclin? He's going to a team that didn't throw a single WR TD last year!" (which is hilarious because Bowe would've easily had one, but this happened):

The ball just popped out into Kelce's hands XD.

As for Romo - always underrated. Yes, the dude is the laughing stock QB of the NFL because of his tendency to choke, but choking isn't reflected in fantasy numbers. With his receiving weapons, best O-line in the league, and no more DeMarco Murray, he's going to be throwing early and often. Plus, we have a guy from Texas in our league who is a huge Cowboys fan, so it'll be fun to rub it in his face when Romo puts up 30 points/game and the Cowboys still lose LOL.

Olsen was actually one of my improvised picks. I was looking at Kelce, but the drafter before me took him and I remembered the whole Benjamin situation, so Olsen seemed like the next best thing to me (the two will likely put up comparable numbers, honestly, although my money's on Kelce being the better option).

But yeah. If you couldn't tell, I'm excited for football to start. And I actually have a reason to watch the first game on Thursday! (my week 1 opponent has Big Ben).

    Have you drafted yet?

I hate my life and I give up on Fantasy....

Peyton Manning and his noodle arm should just retire already. I'm glad you had a fancy second wind a couple seasons ago, but now you're just embarrassing yourself.

Haha, Peyton 'Noodle' Manning. 6-0 but I admit he's not looking to good. Hopefully the Broncos drop their next 10 and end the season at 6-10. Go bolts!

6-0 No thanks to Manning! They're 6-0 despite Manning, haha. That just proves that they have a great D.

Sad to say, but the Broncos D/ST has legitimately been my most consistent fantasy player so far this year. Sitting at 3-3, but bye weeks have got me set up for a horrid week XD

    Look at the Broncos D/ST points though - 15, 21, 15, 9, 21, 16

    I mean that is insanity.
