Every 12 hours?

I was looking up stuff about ultimateprivateservers today:




and oddly enough I went on gtop100's FAQ and found this:





So why aren't we voting every 12 hours? There are dozens of votes every day that probably don't count on gtop100, and ultimateprivateservers registers a vote from the same ip every 12 hours.

I think you should lower the nx reward to 2500-3000 and let us vote every 12 hours. It'd be great for server publicity and obviously most players will love it.

Wait wait wait...

But shouldn't there be a small reward for people who are dedicated enough to vote twice a day? Why not 2.5k NX per vote. It's a nice little bonus.

Just an update if you didn't realise but the voting page still says 4000 nx per vote.

 

Changing the gtop one is dumb.

That exact quote was taken off of gtop in an earlier thread and was discussed.

I agree with David, and it seems as if this change was not discussed very thoroughly - if at all - amongst staff.

We've had polls where voting every 24 hours has received a supermajority (66%+ of votes), not to mention Matt has at more than one occasion said no to 12 hour votes. So this decision to change it in less than an hour after this suggestion was made seems a bit rash, and... odd.

 

My guess is that they want both votes to have the same timetable and ultraprivateservers is once every 12 hours. i.e. One voting website would be 12 hours and another would be 24 hours.

So if one voting website is already 12 hours why not make both of them 12 hours like gtop suggests?

I disagree with every 12 hours to much of a hassle and I personally will miss most time periods making it only possible to vote once a day seeing as I work FT and have wife and kids I do not and won't wake up an half hour earlier to vote before work

 

Use logic for a second. If you're going to vote every 24 hours on one and 12 on the other, why not just make them both 12 for the rare occasion you do mess up a captcha? if you're going to vote every 12 hours on one, why not both, just to be sure? It's only a 5 second process.

It doesn't make much of a difference in UPS ranks as people won't necessarily vote more times if they can vote once every 12 hours as opposed to once every 24 hours - simply because people aren't playing MapleRoyals 24/7; they study, work, sleep, etc, and thus may not be able to vote twice every 24 hours with 12 hours inbetween the separate votes anyway.

The vote may have been held a long time ago, that doesn't mean it's no longer true. If one suspects that the opinion has changed recently, why not open a new poll to see if it has rather than just say "well that was ages ago"?

I disagree with the move to change votes to every 12 hours, and I definitely find the way it was done very odd, as we've been told on more than one occasion by staff/the owner that 24 hours is the preferable time window for voting - and now we see it changed in about an hour after yet another thread suggesting the exact same thing.

To be honest I don't mind 12 hours or 24 hours, but clearly 12 hours would be more beneficial as stated by Ultimate Private servers.

Also the poll from before is just not valid as it is outdated. I never said opinion could have changed, just that it shouldn't be used as a source since it is outdated.

 

Personally, I don't like the idea of 12 hour votes. To get my full 8k NX daily, I'd have to vote at 6pm and then again 6am? Yeah, no thanks.

I already have issues remembering when to vote, and this is only going to make it more complicated and less convenient.

When I made this thread, I was asking for dedication to be rewarded with more nx. I figured he'd make it 3k nx per vote for a potential of 12 in about 24 hours. With something as low as 2k nx per vote, even I don't agree with my own thread.
