Hey guys GLHF here. A little background, I've been playing the server for a while and I have been banned twice for harassing female characters. I really love the server and it's GMS.

However, one thing I noticed is that the GMs of the server are extremely "PC".

You can get banned for saying "f--k, f-g, ect. with very little tolerance and people are taking advantage of that. As a result, many reports are now becoming very petty which wastes a GMs time.

I believe people should get banned for more serious issues such as scamming leech, scamming 10b + of HT books, and extreme harassment of players or GMS. These players will not be named but they exist. These issues hurt players much more then an offensive slur.

I have read the terms and conditions but I feel changing its focus a little would improve the community.

    What do you guys think?

Rofl. And 30min + of whispering someone after they asked you to stop isn't extreme harassment? And then showing up again to harass the same person isn't either? Please, tell me what constitutes extreme harassment. I noticed you whispered me AGAIN the other day, but thankfully I was afk and your messages were gone by the time I came back.

On a server where our weekly player numbers are in the thousands, political correctness is very important. Everyone has their trigger words, and everyone has things that they simply will not tolerate. I do not know who you are nor how you were raised, but I grew up in a world where I was very much the victim of racism because of my skin color; I grew up learning respect for others because that is what I wished others would have for me. Because of that, I grew up with the notion that some words were simply not okay.

We are not so overly politically correct that we make distinction between different names so long as they're not the clearly offensive ones. While you're not exactly incorrect, and there are a lot of petty reports and bans, I think that if sifting through that mess is something I need to do to make sure that we minimize discrimination on this server, then I'll do it on my own. Ten times over. Without a keyboard. To me, no report is petty if one of those words are used, because I take them very seriously.

Final note, please do not turn this thread into a personal vendetta. That goes for both of you.

Sorry about that @Michael, I let my personal opinions get ahead of me. Regardless, I agree with you on the fact that with the amount of players, it is definitely more appropriate to be PC than not. Everyone can choose not to use some words publicly (after all, bl & guild is not restricted) and respect how other people may feel about certain words. Just because something doesn't bother you, doesn't mean it doesn't bother someone else.

Can't do anything about it man.

Some people are rude. Some are too soft and some think that they are awesome by reporting someone over a slur. Whatever the case may be, just try not to say those words publicly and you'll be fine.

I've cursed and used less-than-kind words many times on the sever between me and my friends. Yet when I'm conversing with people who I am not close with/know there's a possibility of someone taking offense I simply don't say those things.

I don't really understand why that is a hard concept for people. While there are certainly some "oversensitive" and report happy folks on the sever that doesn't mean they don't deserve what really is basic respect. If someone is or might be uncomfortable in a certain situation just don't put them in that situation in the first place.

On the same note; I do think some forward thinking would do wonders for everyone. If something someone says bother you distance yourself from that person. Don't roll in mud and be mad you got your clothes filthy. I feel someone who provokes or seeks out negative situations/interactions should be held to some degree of accountability.
