Well, I am not playing this server for such a long time cuz only few days but... I have already noticed big laggs coming here almost all the time... Also it freezes for like 5-10 seconds each 1 minute or so. It is so annoying and I think everyone will admit it. It is not normal that server being top2 in gtop100 got so big laggs which annoy people and have really bad affect on our gameplay... THE QUESTION IS: WILL YOU-OWNER DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT? CHAGNING HOST OR WHATEVER MIGHT HELP???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
If you did some research you would know we're working really hard on solving these lag problems. The majority of the lag issues are caused by the source code being written in a very poorly manner, and we're in the process of rewriting the entire source to solve that problem. This new source code is running on the open beta at the moment, and will be brought to live when it's ready.
but what i dont understand is why after 2 years u guys couldnt fix the lag yet... no other server lags like this...
There's no other server with as many players as us using an odinms based source. It takes a long time to write a GOOD new source code from scratch.
i think other servers have simply better coders. the amount of players is not an excuse for lag my friend
Honestly, if you don't know what you're talking about just leave the staff alone. It's clear that you're not about to do anything to try and help so either deal with it or move on to another server instead of wasting people's time.
You're right, it's not an acceptable excuse, but what can you do about it? The best we can say is, it's being worked on.
Replying as a fellow player here. These kind of threads make me roll my eyes so much sometimes, honestly. I understand that a lot of you guys are new and it does suck a lot when the server lags, but as someone who's been around for over 2 years now here's what I have to say: The current source isn't always stable. Active players know this. Sometimes it will go months with tons of lags a day, and sometimes it will go months being stable like nothing's wrong. There are GMs warping people back to bosses when lags occur and always trying their best to make things as smooth as possible. The lag has been an issue for a while which is why -and I don't know how to make this any clearer- it is being worked on. There are insane amount of effort going into this server by so many people and it's a real shame people can't see that sometimes. Also, this server has a ton of thing to offer (like an amazing community) that usually makes up for the lag in most people's opinions. And lastly, if you're not enjoying your time here - please just stop playing instead of being toxic on the forums.
