What did you miss in the old Maplestory?

Absolutely everything you said.

Plus, I miss the days before the Cash Shop opened. It was nice when you could tell someone's level based on what they were wearing. It felt very rewarding knowing the harder you worked for your character, the more badass you could look. Everything was very much earned by the player, and that was a nice thing that was easily respectable.

definitely the ship to orbis~ i remember meeting some of the funniest friends and joining some of the most memorable guilds from the 10 or 15 minutes of sailing with strangers. i also miss the "@@@"'s in kerning by the sewers~<3

 

I really miss the mass amounts of people in Heneseys that just hung around and socialized, even though I never really was one of these people. I also miss the boat rides with a bunch of other strangers aboard, seeing all the cool chairs people had along the way while I just sat in my noobie chair. It really made the game more immersive and the world seemingly more interactive and populated.

I can't really think of anything else off the top of my head at the moment, but those are just a few things I really enjoyed.

 

KS wars and the amount of lowbies vs high levels.

 

Not sure if I am remembering correctly, but Ellinia in v40 (Beta) felt absolutely vast (much larger than it is in v62.) I wish I could experience those enormous greens again.

 

Boat rides with at least some people on 'em if not more lol

 

I miss grinding at FOG or trying to find PT at MP3 and would wait like a few hours to be invited to 1..
And lastly GALLOPERA, ths best leeching map, thats where the KS war is at its best..

Defently grinding green mushrooms for panlids to sell 1m each

 

It had to be the social aspect.
I made a lot of friends on the game through my guild. We would try to do the Guild PQ and such even though we never had anyone high enough level to actually combat the boss. But it didn't matter, just hanging out and doing things with these people really made it feel like you were the protagonist of your own story and no matter how long you played, the world seemed vast and endless.
The challenges were never ending even, if some of them were self generated, but the beauty of it was your story kept growing but never got old!

I miss all the free leech I got at squids and anego and whatnot for providing HS. Cruised through 75-119!
