I went to play this evening and for some reason, I kept getting an error saying that my game client was no longer in the right spot. I couldn't find it, so I reinstalled, but am still getting this error. Can anyone help with this? I've attached a screenshot; note how the typical icon art isn't there on my start menu.
Well if you deleted the installation you can't use the old shortcut. From the Troubleshoot Guide The default location of the client should be 'C:\Program Files (x86)\MapleRoyals\' (for 64bit) or 'C:\Program Files\MapleRoyals\' (for 32bit). If you want to open the game from the desktop you can right click the MapleRoyals.exe file, choose create shortcut, then drag this new shortcut file to your desktop. Do not drag the original MapleRoyals.exe file! http://royals.ms/forum/threads/troubleshooting-guide.20556/
Sorry, this is a week later, but I've tried reinstalling MapleRoyals a few times now and it still keeps giving me the same errors. I've made sure to wipe everything from my computer, but it keeps giving me the same error message. Any ideas? The error I get now is included in the picture.
Do you still have an antivirus program on? If you have it could very well be that it causes problems. Try download the whole setup again and disable/uninstall any antivirus programs, browser security and firewall. Make sure you uninstall the game in the control panel then delete the folder.
I finally got it to work after about 5 times. I had to completely disable my antivirus and make an exception for the client. Hopefully this works permanently. Thanks!
