Whenever MapleRoyals is running in the background my laptop gets slow/buggy Example:youtube videos cant start/dont have sound, Delay on loading websites, I can play bf4 and other somewhat big games, So its not like my system is too weak to run mapleroyals. Lowering the graphics does not help either. The CPU isnt that heavily affected. No idea how system specs work but i might aswell throw in what i could find Windows 8.1 12GB ram ( pretty sure it was 8 but my system says otherwise ) 64bit Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510u CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.60 GHz I have other issues with for example: Having a twitch stream on source quality + playing a game, It will lower my FPS heavily. Meaning that my (Video card?) isnt that great if im correct. But thats just fps, MapleRoyals makes it buggy rather than lowering my fps. Other maple servers work fine. No fps loss, No strange behavior, Nothing. Thanks in advance.
I can pretty much guarantee that mapleroyals would not cause issues like that. If I were to speculate, I would blame an antivirus program or that you have a low internet speed. Uninstall/disable/ make an exception for mapleroyals in your antivirus some of them ignores exceptions so might require an uninstall.
ONLY occurs with mapleroyals opened. when i close it and re-open my browser everything is fixed. Internet speed is 90down 90 up. I dont use any AV program.
I have never heard of an issue like this, try uninstall MapleRoyals in the control panel, delete the folder and then download a free security program like malwarebytes and see if you have any virus on your computer.
Shoulnd't cause weird behavior like this Im going to re-install maple and see. Virus is 99.99% impossible. Cleaned up and did a factory reset aprox 3weeks ago. Only have trusted programs aside from mapleroyals. That still woulnd't explain the reason behind having this issue ONLY with royals opened. And about malwarebytes, Ill try that out aswell. The only thing i can think of is because im using windows 8 i need several attempts to start the game, Which might overlap causing one client to use alot of cpu, But considering my task manager doesnt show high cpu usage + i close mapleroyals in task manager when the start up fails, I dont see how that would be possible.
If you get the Parameter incorrect error, you need to right click the client > compatibility settings and change compatibility to windows 98/ Windows ME. I am using windows 8.1 and I have never had any issues caused by mapleroyals, nor have I seen anyone have that error before. Windows Defender caused me problems if you still have it active. I know antivirus programs usually see the mapleroyals.exe as a virus and if your modem or ISP has some firewall that throttles your speed thinking your infected. It's all speculation, I had a friend who had his ISP do it cause his computer was infected, but apparently his virus was spreading to other people on that network
Firewall, Defender, Everything is turned off. If my ISP would have something to do with it, Alot more programs should cause a problem like this. ( probaly ) + i have 2 diffrent providers in 2diffrent homes. Also sounds extremely unlikely. My internet speed is exactly the same when royals is runnng. I tried everything now and the problem is still there. Creative idea though. It actually gave me more internet speed
Could you try update your drivers, sound, graphic card, motherboard etc... maybe there are some windows updates as well. I have been told there are a few who have a similar problem like you and they are also using laptops, so there is some PC problem which the cause is not known why it happens.
As far as i know everything is updated. Im just gonna call it solved for now, Just gotta deal with it
Well you can always download VMware and run it there, and you can always download the beta to see if you still have the problem there since we will be switching to that source soon enough. http://royals.ms/forum/threads/how-to-horntail-without-graphical-glitches-closing-your-client.16643/
