Worst experience of my maple life

How do you get anything done in this server with the constant dc's?
Can't train because of the literally constant lag.
Can't do pq's because of the constant dc'ing and random kicks out of the pq.

In my few days of playing this game I'd say I've been dc'd or crashed probably 300 times. It's insane.

There's just stupid bugs, too. Spam click an NPC? Crash. Really?..
Click guild alliance tab? Crash? Unacceptable, seriously.
Fighting a boss? Good luck, probably gonna crash before you kill it.
Change channels? CRASH.
Sometimes mobs don't even drop quest items like in LPQ with the rats and tickets.
Haven't even buffed the trash skills that are useless, like it's really hard to make them viable. (new source meme)
If there's too many people on the server at once then have a max player limit.

I haven't had a single DAY where there wasn't lag or dc's and that's not an exaggeration.

There's just no way. I can't take it anymore. This has seriously been one of the most frustrating experiences.

Everyone crashes in party quests I've been in constantly. I can't believe people donate. I seriously just don't understand. I'd have no problem donating if the experience wasn't such a nightmare.

I guarantee I get flamed into the ground even though this stuff is true.

 

If you don't like this server, you should probably not play on it.

A tip to prevent it. Once you have double clicked on the npc, if nothing happens write something in the chat.(all chat) If your message is delayed, just wait till the message to pop-up. If not, proceed to double click it once again.

It will be fixed in the new source, for now just avoid clicking it?

Multiple bossruns are being succeded everyday, if lag however strikes in, there's always friendly & helpful GMs comming to the rescue!

I've LPQ'd countless of times and the rats always drop their tickets. Some may be hiding near the walls so make sure to use the loot key near walls! (Also, sometimes people forget to check their inventories but are too afraid to admit that they had one(or more) ticket(s).)

If you dislike the server so much and want it to become better, then i'd suggest you to dedicate some time into the open-beta! The more that bugtests the new source, the faster it will launch.

We get that lag is frustrating, as well as disconnects.. We have to deal with them just as much as you do, or maybe even more.
But making a feedback thread with just rants about how everything is shit just isn't going to make any difference, except that some people may not like you as much anymore afterwards. The new source is a project that has been worked on for a long time now, and it's getting closer and closer to being ready for release. Sure, it won't be within a week from now that we will see it up and running, but it won't be as long as some may think it will take either.

I suggest you to be patient with us, and if you really can't stand the lag I'd advise you to maybe play a different game for the time being, or maybe the open beta as Zynzer suggested.

 

I disagree that people shouldn't complain when things are bad. If everyone sat and waited for everything in the world to change without actually saying anything then nothing would ever change. I don't care if people don't like me, either.

I suppose you've joined at a bad time, then. We've been having some issues behind the scenes that we're actively working on with the new source being so close. Some of the things you've mentioned are things that are easily avoidable, and become second nature to any player that isn't purposely trying to frustrate themselves;

Spam clicking NPC - click once/use NPC chat key. If nothing pops up, use a buff. If the buff icon appears, click again, if it doesn't, give it a moment and the NPC chat will appear.
Guild alliance tab crash - don't click it. We know it's an issue, and if it were as simple as a few keystrokes, we'd have fixed it already, but it's simply not that easy.
Party Quest random kicks - not as random as you think; change channels between every PQ and you'll never get kicked again.
Fighting a boss - GMs like myself are on as often as we can to assist with warping players back to their bossfights when they've disconnected, as well as posting notices when we know that the server is too unstable to boss properly.
Change channels crash - surprisingly rare; I can't remember the last time I've ccdc'd more than once in a week, being honest.
Mobs not dropping quest items - never heard of this one before, so I'm willing to bet you just missed a ticket accidentally.
Haven't buffed low-end classes - that was a part of this version, class imbalance, and so we kept it because we attempt to emulate the feel of that time.
Too many players online - That's not the issue, let me make that clear to you. I won't confirm or deny how amazing our hardware is, but I will say that the issue with the vast majority of the disconnects we have at the moment are due to the server code and not due to hardware.

I'm in no way attempting to flame you, I'm simply trying to point out that hundreds of people play this server daily, and come back the next day too. Yes it's frustrating to have to deal with some of the issues that we have, but for the most part, the problems that this server have are avoidable, so if you do wish to give us a second chance, I think you'll find that with the right knowledge of how to avoid the common problems we've got at the moment (stressing the at the moment part as we're not far off a complete server source overhaul that should fix everything on the above list and more) you'll have a much better time.

 

Just saying — nobody is forcing you to donate, and nobody is forcing you to play here. Yes, there are lag spikes. Yes, you sometimes get kicked out of PQs due to timer glitches. Yes, it can be frustrating. But I'm a player who has been bossing and PQing pretty much every day for a couple months successfully, so I just really don't agree with your statement that you "can't" do any of the things that you say you can't do. I train every day, I boss every day, I PQ every day.

But if it's really too much for you, that's fine, go play somewhere else. I'm genuinely not saying that to be sassy or mean. I think everyone has things that they care about more or less, as well as things that they get more or less frustrated over. Maybe this server (the way it is now) isn't for you. But it's not like the staff or the community doesn't know about the problems that you're talking about. They're not just "waiting for everything in the world to change without actually saying anything." If you take some time to look through the forums, you would see just how actively people are working to fixing this. The staff is working really, really hard on the new source, as is the community with helping to test out the bugs on the open beta. If you want to speed things up, go on over to the beta and help test things out.

 

cc dc - most cases of this are caused when a buff or potion runs out as you are ccing. you can test it out yourself. so before you cc, if you have any buffs or potions about to run out, right click them to cancel them. you still sometimes dc when you are ccing even with no buffs going away, and these are the really annoying ones because they cause your character to get stuck in game for a while (few minutes even)

 

When i first joined Royals a really bad lag kicked in the server, people were complaining that the lag problem wasn't there a few days ago from when i joined. I jinxed the server. The server went off a LOT of times. But i just dealt with it, i understand that you are REALLY frustrated. In my case, i'm afraid of buying leech, because i know i will DC or some jank like that, but the new source is around the corner, so just relax. I will give you an Internet Hug if you want, my friend.
