Cannot open mapleroyals

I cannot start up mapleroyals and constantly get this error:

error code : -2005530520 (Unknown error 0x88760868)

I have already tried to reinstall it but it didn't work. My firewall is down. I can't think of any other solutions to my problem

 

When you say reinstall did you download the new setup, or did you run the one on your computer?

That error code is definitely a sign on you using the old files.

I uninstalled, redownloaded the client, and installed it. It still didn't work

All. I cannot launch it on my PC at all. I've tried using another PC at work and it worked fine

 

Do you have any antivirus programs or a firewall active while you download the setup?
It does sound like a corrupt installation.

I never realized that you said you can't open the game at all, since the error code for outdated files and this error which I am pretty sure is caused by corrupt installation are very similar.

When you uninstall the game do it in the control panel and then delete the folder.
I can't think of anything else, unless you downloaded the mac setup when you are on windows or the opposite.

You can also try changing the compatibility, right click the client > properties > compatibility tab > run in windows 98/ windows ME.

Have you made sure your computer doesn't have any viruses?
MapleRoyals.exe might show up as one but it's safe.

I have also never seen that error code, there are similar but not the one you posted.

 

I also get this error code while trying to launch in sandboxxie, is there a way to fix it? My royals works on my normal windows 10 desktop.

 

Sandboxies does not work with Maplestory, in later version of windows.

 

So what should I use, someone told me ghost maple and there is a thread on Virtual Machine, will that work?

 

VMware works yes.
