    It's story time.

First and foremost, this thread is not meant to be a showoff thread. Think of this as a "sharing a life story" thread rather than anything else.

Some of you may know me, most of you do not. My names is Yves (Pronounced "eve" not "yi-ves"). I'm currently studying Electrical Engineering at UMD and graduating in exactly 10 days and I'm also turning 22 in 9 days. But let's forget all that and step back two steps to 2012. I graduated high school in 2012. I worked during high school saving every penny wisely for dreams of buying a car when I graduate. However, once I graduated, I came to realize that since I'll be living on campus, a car wasn't really needed. And I made the most influential decision of my whole life. I bought a bike. Not a pedaling bike, I bought a Yamaha R1. For any riders here, I know your typical reply will be "You bought a 1000cc bike as your first bike?'. No, I grew up in France around cars and motorcycles. I started driving at the age of 12 and used to sneak my dad's keys and drive around with my cousin and friends. Also, in France, you can rent motorcycles as long as you have a valid drivers license, and if you don't...you can pay a little extra and be waived of the requirement. I was already a proficient rider at this point and a liter bike was no problem. Anyway, back to the story. Now the riding community has the closest relationship I've ever seen. If you've seen two riders drop down two fingers to each other, that's our way of saying "Hi". It's also very easy to join a group. Once I bought my bike, I was instantly within a riding community in the area. It just so happens, most of the riders in this community were also big into the underground racing scene. So I went and I watched and eventually I started putting money down and racing.

Being a novice, I raced in small races. $100 buy-ins were very common. Being the new guy, people had the mindset of "new rider, easy money" and had no clue I used to ride since I was a little kid. Things were very simple at this stage. Every weekend, we would meet up at 11:00 PM and at 1:00 AM, the shenangins would start. Months of this continued. Months of making small bets, months of making small profits, months of losing small loses. However, I saved up to buy my first "superbike". A BMW S1000RR. As I started winning more and more, the buy-ins went up. The $100 I started off with was up to $1000. This continued and I bought my 2nd bike. Also a BMW S1000RR but this was the HP4 model. I had three bikes now. Price wise, all three combined totaled to ~$50,000. Things continued and everything was fine. I was making around $15,000 in a single night.

    "No way, stop lying, Yves"
These pictures were taken in the past. I can't really tag them and show that these are really mine. HOWEVER. I don't have the blanket anymore but from the following picture, you can see the same curtain and the same pillow design. I will try to find that blanket. (Mind the messy bed and chocolate croissant, I'm French)
This continued every weekend. The amount of money I've made is insane and you wouldn't believe me if I told you. "But Yveeeeeeeees, what did you spend it all on?". Basically, I hate people who make money and hoard it. No. My parents are clear of debt, and their house is fully paid for. My dad drives a S-Class and my mom drives a Range Rover. Both gifts from me. My friends are spoiled. I haven't went out with a friend and made them pay since then. My best friend's 21st birthday came with a $30,000 bill.

However, I also spoiled myself as well. I was in a different country every week. I woke up in a 5-star hotel next to a model and slept in another 5-star hotel with another model. I used to rent high-end exotic cars and just drive them around campus. We bought our own warehouse and used it as car and motorycle storage. We had security guards that came with tigers.

On rainy days, we played monopoly with real money (1:1 ratio to monopoly money). Life was good. Everything was great. "Oh no, Yves, this means something happened and it changed". No, nothing happened. I walked out of it by my own decision. I ended that life because it was time to settle down. As much as I was distracted, I have been very focused on my education. Something somebody said to me has made me never lose track of my education. The conversation was as follows:

Him: What do you expect to be makine when you're 35?
    Me: Around $135,000 a year
Him: Every year you waste on your education now, you're throwing away that $135,000 you could be making.

That sentence sent shivers down my spine and I've never been more driven to finish my studies. This forced me to graduate EE in 3 and a half semesters.
I'm now working at Parsons Brinckerhoff, one of the leading worldwide consulting firms. I'm set to graduate in 10 days and I have already been offered a very nice paying job with a five figure signing bonus. I did save some of the money I made. Right now, I'm a proud owner of a BMW M4, BMW S1000RR, and a BMW S1000RR HP4. If anything were to happen, those can easily sell for $100,000+. I also have $125,000 that I do not touch. My daily spending now are funded by my job and this is left for security.

    FAQ

    Q: Is it dangerous?
A: Yes, it is extremely dangerous. These races are at speeds of 190+ mph . However, not just the riding at high speed part is dangerous. I've seen friends crash and die with limbs torn. I've seen friends get shot over a racing bet. The amount of deaths you see in this scene is immense.

Q: Have you every been caught by police?
A: Usually when we race, we take off our license plates. Outrunning police is very easy. Drop a gear and disappear. We have had road blocks, helicopters, spike stripes. Fully evaded, never been caught.....except once. Not racing, this is pretty recent. This 4th of July, my friends and I decide to go on a trip. Now usually on trips we take two cars. I decided to be one of the drivers. I drive a M4 and the other driver has a RS5. We're taking them down US29 (Long empty straight road). We have some fun, and end up doing 2nd and 3rd gear pulls. I get clocked at 102 (speed limit is 60). Anyway, I laywer up. Best lawyer in the state. However, it turns out, the prosecutor lost someone close in a high speed crash and would not drop jail time. I get 60 days of jail with 56 days suspended, 45 days restricted license, 20 hours community service. To clear things up, 56 days suspended means I go to jail for 4 days and if I recieve another speeding ticket in the next 3 years, I have to go back and serve the rest of the sentence. So, yes, I did spend 4 days in jail.

    Story in a story time!
I'm ordered to appear at Orange County Regional Jail at 8:00 PM. I get there at 7:45PM, I wait around and they take us in (there was 4 of us) at 8:15 PM. We go in. We get patted down one by one, then we go in a different room which seemed to be the visitation room. The officer takes us one by one and fully strip searchs us. Now first time in jail, I had no clue you're allowed to keep WHITE undergarments. I showed up with blue briefs and a black tank top. He gives me the orange suit. Dirty as fuck. The white stripes on it have turned brown and it smells disgusting and to make it worse, I have to wear it butt naked. After that, we go into a holding cell where we each get processed one by one and have a medical examination. We're then escorted into our cell. Now the cells didn't have a bed. They had these boat shaped plastic frames and you're provided with a mattress. This is around 10:00 PM now. I didn't get my mattress until 2:00 AM. It's fine, I'll just sleep more, right? NOPE. By the time I go to sleep, it's 3:00 AM. I'm woken up at 4:00 AM. Why? Breakfast. Breakfast is at 4:00 AM. Now the regulars there sleep early and wake up refreshed at 4:00 AM for breakfast. I'm not a regular. I can't go back to sleep because everyone's up and talking. One guy decides to take a shower and walk around in his wet sandels whispering "squish, squish, squish" as if his sandals weren't already making that sound. 6:00 AM now, still can't sleep. I get jolted up from bed by the sound of yelling for help. Some guy was shooting heroin in the bathroom on the toilet and was there for about 6 hours. By the time we find him, his lips are blue and he's unresponsive. We go to the phone and call for medical and as we're calling, he walks out the bathroom and tells us "wow, I need more heroin". We all facepalm. 8:00 AM, trying to sleep. Not going to happen. 400 pound dude fell asleep and I swear I felt his snores shaking the walls. 11:00, we get lunch. I had spilled the juice they gave us for breakfast earlier and I look down at the tile and the color has faded. The juice ate the color of the tile. That was supposed to be in my tummy....I give away most of my food, and barely eat enough to survive. I'm not going to keep going because the next three days are filled with more sleepless nights and the same routine. But yes, I did go to jail.

Q: Did you only do underground racing?
A: No, I did go to the track quite often as well and I am the current record holder for fastest liter bike at the Summit Point Track in West Virginia.

that's tight dude, wish my life was nearly as interesting as yours haha
but don't you think you'll miss the thrill when you're sitting at a cubicle for 8 hours a day surrounded by risk averse engineers?

I don't sit in a cubicle 8 hours a day though! We travel A LOT. I've already been on business trips to the UK, Poland, Spain, and Egypt along with a lot of domestic travels as well! It's not a desk job by any means. Also, I do still go out and reach the speed limiter on the bikes!

Every single photo used has proof and has been tagged. Unnecessary comment.

If you're talking about the bed picture, it was around ~$20,000. You'll see it, don't worry!

The thing that's rustling my jimmies is why on earth would you post this here instead of somewhere larger like le reddit?
Why not repost this where more people can see it?
Not saying I don't think it's cool, but, why here tho?

It is. Your point? Again, every picture is tagged with "MapleRoyals", my name, and the date.

Thank you, I take pride in my sock collection.

I mean why would you post a cool story like this on a forum for an mmo private server, with only a few hundred people, instead of a public forum or image board where thousands more people can see it?

In b4 gold diggers. >:D My cousin races too but not underground (that I know of).

I miss going to watch him race but at the same time this sport is too scary for my fragile heart. I remember one time I saw an ambulance going out onto the track and I noticed I hadn't seen him come back around in a while. So yeah, he crashed. Turned out to be okay physically but in those moments I feared the worst. And then right after he dropped a grand on a new suit. Expensive hobby!!!!

I wish I could show him this post. I think he'd like your story. :)

    Okaaaaaaay, let's start.

First of all, everything tagged is mine, no? Or are you going to say I photoshopped the card on there or something?

Second of all, we'll address Sameet's 2 cars.

    See the car below:
    http://i.imgur.com/zZkUwvG.jpg

My car, Virginia tags. (My parents live in NoVA and I'm in the area very often)

    Sameet's picture:
    http://vgy.me/n3cmFY.png

New York tag. Carbon spoiler and carbon diffuser. Let's look at the diffuser. You can clearly see it wraps around to the rear wheel wells. Let's look at the picture I posted on the other thread as well as this picture.
    http://i.imgur.com/YzvCR19.jpg

Do you see a carbon diffuser by the rear wheels well. No. Also take a look at the spoiler. Is it black? No.

Sameet posts pictures of TWO different cars and I've already contacted him.

The receipt picture, I can not prove so believe me or not if you want.

The bike picture. HMMMM. Let's look at this instagram.

    Also, let's go further.

    Posts this.

No decals on the bike. Later posts this.

Decals on the bike. This is tagged with his instagram so I'm assuming this bike is his.

    THEN posts this. No decals.

He posts that he's selling the bike and that it has a new owner yet he still posts pictures of it? How can that be? Those picture are of not one, not two, not three, but several different HP4s. ONE is his.
Second of all, that helmet he posts with the bike is a AGV Tartatuga. I got this helmet for one specific reason. I study at UMD. Our mascot is a terrapin. Turtle helmet seemed fitting.

I'm done trying to prove myself to you guys. football contacted me earlier about this. I could've easily taken it down for it not to be discovered by anyone else. I didn't because those pictures are mine and only mine. I wouldn't prove everything about the story yet lie about these. Especially since these aren't even part of the story and could've easily been left out. I don't trust the internet either, I reverse image mostly everything I see. However, I don't reverse image my own postings. If anyone else wants to play little detective, go ahead. You're wasting your time and I suggest you do something more time worthy like complaining about the Christmas item drop rates.
