I don't even know where to start. As a player that normally comes back to Maplestory private servers for durations between two weeks and one month (just to relieve the occasional pangs of nostalgia feels), I'm surprised at how long I've stuck with Royals. Given the size of the community, I've met my fair share of individuals that have made my experience here fun, colorful, and pleasantly unpredictable. What kept me coming back to the server probably boils down to two broad things: (1) my tendency to set lofty, ambitious goals for myself that take considerable effort to achieve and (2) the great friends that I've made. Somewhat ironically, one of the things that tied me to the server ended up being a decisive factor in my decision to leave. With growing family tensions related to "success in life," the importance of setting aside more and more time to think about what I really want to do career-wise after obtaining my undergraduate degree increases daily. Time is ever-so-limited, and as such my ambitious tendencies are like double-edged swords - while establishing lofty goals engenders motivation and hard work, it also puts a large dent in my increasingly small time budget. There are a couple other reasons as to why I'm leaving, but I don't think they are quite worth mentioning here Of course I can't leave without acknowledging the people that made my experience here fun and memorable ... @Jeen I still remember the first time we met at himes with Vincent, and I thought your IGN was the cutest thing ever (I mean, who can deny the genius of injeenious?) Since then, I've witnessed your unwavering dedication to helping the community and the server, and I'm really happy that the staff recognizes your efforts. I'm glad I took the time to see what poor party-less priest was at the bottom of the map, since you're one of the sweetest/most optimistic players I've met here. I'm also sorry for any time that I came across as a complete ass (e.g. FM spot swiping on my noob characters) - I never intended to actually steal them, so I hope that we're not on bad terms (despite the constant Joey hate in Skype ) @Mandy MANDAYYYYYY. I'm waiting for you to come back and say this, but knowing you this most definitely won't happen, and neither do I want it to, since you should focus entirely on what you've chosen to do as you leave Royals. It has been great getting to know you since summer and I'll miss the occasional coincidences we've come across during our skype chats; not so sure if I'll miss being called d + dongseng by you, but it was very fun to have someone around who I could talk to about topics ranging from my geeky maple interests to some of my academic concerns irl. I hope you stick to what you've decided on and perhaps I'll see you once in a while, ofc after you're done with your stuff
