Error code -2147024809 (The parameter is incorrect) - I already checked troubleshooting guide

So, after downloading the game I tried to get on but I'm faced with this error. I went to the troubleshooting guide which told me this is a common problem for windows 8+ users (I use windows 7 either way). I tried to check the tabs it told me to in the properties, however, I can't edit the compatibility of the game (the check mark and box are unclickable). I tried editing the .wz files and I still get the same issue.

It randomly started to work

 

Click "Change settings for all users"
Use Win98/ME compatibility.

 

Playing with edited wz files is very much against the rules and you may be banned if you continue.

 

All I did was replace the files with what was recommended ^ but thanks for the heads up. Also, the solution worked, thank you!
