I started playing on this server yesterday, and was having a lot of fun, I had to deal with the compatibility thing, but other than that I had no problems. When I tried to log in today i got a message that popped up saying "We are unable to connect to the login server due to a server check, a firewall block or other network issues. Please check the MapleRoyals homepage for ongoing server checks as well as your firewall settings." I checked my firewall settings, and they are fine, and I know they aren't the problem since I got the same message when I tried to run the game with my firewall off. I know it isn't my network because I can still connect to the internet fine (I'm writing this now so that's proof), and one of my friends has been playing on the server all day, so I know it isn't a server check. I have tried changing the compatibility mode around, and reinstalling the game but nothing is working. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this?
If the problem is unrelated to your network, like a modem firewall, ISP block etc.. it would be a problem with your computer, could be an antivirus program blocking you even when making an exception for the game to run some of them ignores it and still causes problems, disable HotSpot Shield, Microsoft Loopback adapter and Hamachi.
well I don't have hamachi installed, so that isn't it, but I was able to get it to work by manually telling to to run as admin, for some reason that worked even though the program is default set to run as admin. The next time i tired it worked fine. It is really confusing me... it seems to work randomly, but I am able to play again.
