Hi everybody, I have a serious problem when I want to start the game. Most of the time, I need to start the client like 15 times and it keeps crashing with the error code: -2147024809 (wrong parameter). Eventually it will work after many attempts and I am able to log into the game. This is extremly frustrating, exspecially with the current server performance where u dc like every 5 minutes and eventually crash, if I crash I have to go through the whole process again... OS: Windows 8.1 (running in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2) -> yes running as Admin to ofc.. Ram: 8GB Graphics: GeForce GTX 660TI Motherboard: Z87 miniATX Processor: i5 4670K Help is appriciated.. I don't have this problem on my Laptop which runs Windows 7 and is 8 years old.... Edit: Forget to mention that this is totally random, sometimes I am able to start the game with the 1st or 2nd try, but that rare -.-
When I had this problem while running it in SP2 I just used that "Run Compatibility trouble shooter." Never had that problem again. I dunno if it would be the same for you though, or if you've already tried it.
Right click the client > properties > compatibility tab > run the game in compatibility for Windows 98/Windows ME
