Hi I haven't played since September 2015, I downloaded the new files from January 10th but now I can't enter the game That is the message I get: I have ESET antivirus, maybe it affects on the problem because I haven't created a exclusion for MapleRoyals and I don't know what to write in the 'address' of the program.. Please help
You can check the troubleshooting guide for a quick answer, here's the link: http://royals.ms/forum/threads/troubleshooting-guide.20556/
I have tried this already, I created an exclusion for MapleRoyals.exe in my ESET antivirus but that message still keeps appearing
Sometimes you need to make an exception for the whole mapleroyals folder, or even the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\MapleRoyals\" Your firewall or even Microsoft Defender could cause these issues. Do you have another network to try with like connecting using Hotspot and your phone? In case there is a network problem. Then there is simple restart your modem and computer and see if that helps. If this doesn't help I would temporarily uninstall ESET and any other antivirus software to see if they really are the problem even after making an exception.
My network is alright, I tried to make an exclusion for the whole MapleRoyals folder and it still doesn't work.. should I redownload the game? BTW, I had AVG antivirus when I played in the summer, I don't really know if ESET causes the problem
Well since no one else has this problem it is very likely a problem on your end. That would mean either a network or computer problem. Since I can't tell which one you have to do the work and find out.
Very weird. I used to play this game on a daily basis in the summer, now it doesn't open BTW, what antivirus do you have?
I downloaded the game on another computer (which doesn't have ESET antivirus) and I have had the same problem So the problem is probably related to my network. What should I do?
Can any administrator check if my internet is not enabled please? Or is it a problem in a specific area in Israel? Or my IP? Or maybe after a real server check it will be ok? Please help guys.. Edit: I tried to download the open Beta and I didn't had the problem there. Can you please check my IP or something like I said above, to see why can't I enter the original game?
Please download this client and replace it with MapleRoyals.exe in your folder. Post if this works. Lets try fixing your problem.
What client? Oh, now I see. But isn't it the download from the MapleRoyals page? I have it already on my computer..
The difference I see between the beta server and the live server is that, the live server's login server is hosted through www.royals.ms Perhaps there is a problem with your DNS resolving the hostname to the IP address for some reason. (In your browser's URL bar, does it say www.royals.ms , or royals.ms? For me it's the latter, while the client tries connecting to www.royals.ms. Perhaps if it is the same for you, then maybe your computer has trouble resolving the URL with www in it, into its IP address.) To attempt to fix this, I'll write you some steps to do. 1) Search for notepad on your computer. When it's found, you must right-click, and click run as administrator. 2) With notepad opened, Click File -> Open. Navigate to your system drive, open the Windows folder, open the System32 folder, open the Drivers folder, open the etc folder. Under file type, click the drop down list and select "All Files". You should now see a file called "hosts". Open this file. [Note if you have issues with this step please see below*] 3) When the file is opened you will see something like this: Spoiler # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host 127.0.0.1 localhost Below everything that is already there, add this line: 192.169.80.74 www.royals.ms This tells Windows to use the IP 192.169.80.74 when a request to look up www.royals.ms is made. Now click File -> Save, wait 5-10 minutes and try to turn on MapleRoyals again. [Note] The reason the client is setup to look up www.royals.ms and not connect directly to the IP address is because sometimes IP addresses can change. If this fix works for you, and one day you can't connect to MapleRoyals anymore. Remember that you manually told your computer what IP address to use for www.royals.ms and that maybe this IP has changed. In that case you will have to lookup www.royals.ms using a third party tool such as www.network-tools.com and repeat these steps to update the IP address. * - System drive is the drive windows is installed on. If you cannot see the Windows folder, you have to in an explorer** window, click view, folder options. And allow viewing hidden and operating system files. (Undo the viewing later if it's annoying to see all the hidden files windows has) ** - this is the file viewing program, not internet explorer.
First I really want to thank you for your caring. I have tried those steps and it still doesn't work.. really weird
