Character Name: Artfully Last thing you did: Training Why do you think you got banned?: Supposedly Ksing. Bam Message When logging in: Temp ban for Killing stealing/harassment GM: John The Guy posted me to report abuse when he failed to mention two things. He wasn't in the map when I got there (D/ced Im guessing) So I started poison training he came back in a fit of rage claiming "I d/c'ed my map". I went ahead and said Ok sat in the safe spot for a few minutes and noticed he was only hitting 1s on the mobs. I asked if he had a leecher coming, he said yes. I literally waited 25 minutes and nothing. I then proceeded to tell him that I would kill around him until his "leecher" came. Literally another 30 minutes and nothing. Then he just left map and never came back. So you guys are telling me with 1k+ players at peak hours and only 12 maps, that you're allowed to hold an entire map that you can even kill 1 mob on for long periods of time even when you weren't in the map when some one else got there? This whole map owner thing is pretty broken. considering he was able to hold it by hitting ones a mobs for an hour and wasn't in the map until 7 minutes or so after I had entered it.
First, your screenshot is edited so that can't be used as proof of anything. Second, the character that reported you owned the map so you didn't have any business being in the map once you saw they had come back. The map loses ownership after 3 minutes of inactivity so the person who got DCed and originally had the map must have been able to get back within 3 minutes.
I was windowed mode so I cropped my desktop out, I can provide the full picture if you prefer to see. Regardless, I'm no longer worried about the appeal, I'm more curious on if what I asked is allowed or not; for the future of course.
Ultimately if a GM isn't around the ~mapowner command decides who has the rights to it with the exclusion of BOSS maps like Anego, Bigfoot and Headless Horseman if the person holding the map is not able to / not planning to kill the boss on that character. This means you cannot hold a Bigfoot map on your bishop unless you are actively attacking it with magic claw for example. All maps with mobs on them can be owned by players that can deal damage on them as low as 1. The owner has the right to ask you to leave even if they are less efficient in training than you are.
