A few days ago I was hardcore grinding, got a good map and stuff. Now after like 2hours of grinding I ran into the problem that I had to go to toilet but didn't want to lose the map. After some more time I really had to go. While it only took me like 4 minutes to come back the map was gone :/ So what I m questioning myself is: Is there any way or interest to add this function? The mapowner system is stressfree and absolutly working imo. But adding like: ~toilet making someone able to hold the mapownage for 5 minutes would be awesome. Here is my idea in short points: - ~toilet as a command - making the actual mapowner to not get overwritten for around 5 minutes - has a cooldown of 2-3hours - wouldn't change that much in the game, but make it easier to grind What do you guys think? What do our gm's think about? Greetings
People might start abusing this toilet command to be afk for more than 3 minutes (even though they are not really going to the washroom actually), which defeats the purpose of the real ~mapowner command imo :/ Unless, this command comes with a 1 hour cooldown time or something. Idk, I just love the server the way it is, even if it means losing maps. I'll usually ask a friend to help me watch the map but when no one is available, I gotta be really quick & it's as simple as that
Personally not a big fan of this. I've been on both sides of the situation and think its fair how it is. If I lose a map in that space of time I just look for other things to do.
Thats why I started my post with a 2-3hour cool down so it can't be abused! That someone uses it for other things than toilet wouldn't be a problem. Maybe go smoke in that 5 minutes or whatever you like to take ur 5 minutes for^^
I'm fine with the 2-3 minute timer as it is right now. It's hard enough to find a map nowadays and with this, it'll be even tougher.
IMO this would be unnecessary because the command is there to prevent KSing, not to give you time to go to the bathroom, though with how it works, it already allows for you to do this if you're fast. It was decided that if you're inactive for 3 minutes, no matter what the reason, your map is up for grabs by someone who isn't AFK/inactive.
Just run to the bathroom, fill up that bowl, run back to the game, hit a few mobs, run back to the washroom, wipe yourself, wash your hands, and then casually walk back to the computer to continue playing!!!! : ) Your other option is install teamviewer on your phone, so while you go to the washroom you can control your computer from your phone and keep that map owner! If your phone can't help you play maple, use a wireless keyboard from your bathroom while viewing the screen by skype share screen, teamviewer, facetime, etc.
Or how about you just take a break as odds are, you've been playing the game for a few hours before having to use the washroom.
There's many ways for you to prevent this, or at least, this is what i do: 1. Make some friends, And ask someone to hold your map, this is something that me/my guildies do, And you can Up to 30 minutes or even more. 2. Bring your laptop to your bathroom (ok jk) Now you have a reason for making friends
The only rule is that if a GM comes to your map and talks to you, you must be able to respond. If are showing robotic play and cannot prove that you are there quickly enough, you will be banned for botting. Keep in mind you're using teamviewer at your own risk, so if you aren't able to respond like you should be able to, you only have yourself to blame. There have been countless Ban Appeals from people that were supposedly on teamviewer but couldn't respond cause of their phone crashed, or crappy response time of the program, etc, and the GMs have never taken that as an excuse.
You have to be able to see the screen when you are casting. The only exception is when you use a summoning and leave inbetween, but you must be there to cast it. You cannot have anything be automatically casting for you. Failure to respond will be seen as robotic and people can also report you for that as well. Unless you're keeping an eye on the screen, teamviewer or otherwise, I wouldn't suggest casting anything.
