Hi! Recently after the shut down of ExtaliaMS, our server experienced a significant increase in population. But what of the older veteran players? Let's bring to light what content the lower levels have as compared to the higher level players

    Lower level players (levels 1-150)
    - Maple Island transition
    - Job advancement
    - KPQ, LPQ, LMPQ, OPQ, APQ, GPQ
    - Grinding spots (various)
    - Zakum, Krexel

    Higher level players (155-200)
    - Zakum, Krexel, Horntail
    - APQ, GPQ
    - Skele's, Petri's, Oblivion training

The point that I want to get across is that us higher end players are lacking content and that in turn makes it less fun and makes the game repetitive.

For example, this is usually how my day is on Royals.
    1. Ask around to go bossing (HT or otherwise) [hunting BF's is a different story]
    2. If nobody wants to go bossing (or if they're on cool down) head to Oblivion map/Skele's to grind
    3. If all else fails, Solo a boss or go to the FM and just sit there and try and make conversation

We emphasize so much on Nostalgia that the higher end players don't have enough content due to that nostalgia barrier. Compared to the new players, we lack a lot of the content they have. We can't KPQ like they do (the MAIN purpose of KPQ is for exp and levels). Same for LPQ.
APQ is primarily a grind for onyx apples and GPQ is the only other option.

Furthermore, with the new source incoming in (*hopefully*) early-mid 2016, we'll be introduced to CWKPQ and Dojo. While those are cool additions, how long do you think these content will actually last? Once people get their MoN's and high tier belts, they won't go back to those locations (unless you're bored out of your mind and have nothing better to do).

We need new content. Doing the same stuff over and over again seems like a chore rather than fun. This server emphasizes the "nostalgia factor" to the point where anything the community suggests for content is written off. How else do you expect to keep the longevity of the server with the same content? Make new characters and do the same stuff over again? Try and better yourself with new gear? This isn't fun. It's repetitive and it needs to change.

If we slightly alter the "nostalgia" factor of this server and make it flexible for us higher end players to actually experience new and fun content, it will be a win win for everyone. Recently I honestly have no motivation to play other than to get my hero to 200. After that I don't have plans on making a new character because I myself KNOW I will be doing the same things over again as I have on my hero. I don't want to keep doing Horntail or Zakum just for exp. I don't want to grind for a long time for incremental exp. There should be alternative methods to obtain *decent* exp (at level 170+) while still keeping it fun and enjoyable.

    Here are some suggestions
    - add new maps for higher end players (this can include a quest barrier like ToT)
    - Add a few new "mini bosses" that actually requires the help of other party members and drops something worthwhile. Like a ring or eye accessory with BALANCED stats (raccoon masks are the only one we have)

I encourage the community to give constructive criticism about this topic since there is a lack of content when we reach end game.

    Thank you!

I think there should be like maybe a way to get 120 gear later on, perhaps by Pink Bean if that's ever added, or through something else. I agree that something should be given as a challenge to higher levels, so I'm all in for it. Could be fun :p

This is why ToT and Ulu City were added and, as you mention, why CWKPQ and Dojo will be added. Old School Maplestory just doesn't have much content overall, and that's what this server is, and Old School server for players looking to renew the excitement they had when they were younger. A lot of people don't like or want the newer content, and adding it would change the very fiber of what MapleRoyals is, a, beware the curse word, Nostalgic server. Honestly I'm glad they decided to add in more content instead of sticking to only v62 content.

As for decent EXP, the higher level you are the harder it SHOULD be to level. You might say something about the curve but it's that way for a reason, even as a 4x server it shouldn't be easy or even remotely easy to reach max level with end game equipment. It should be something people strive for years to achieve, especially since you can participate in all the end game content before you reach these final milestones.

I think the one thing that's been left open for adding is Pink Bean, as we already have ToT. But I that would be nearly impossible to kill, and if I remember correctly it wasn't killed in GMS till after BB (I could be wrong, but it was close). Other than PB there's Scar/Targa, whose helms would make Zakum helms obsolete; LHC which will (hopefully) never be considered; Dragon Rider PQ which was ok; and Chaos Zakum/Horntail which would be nearly impossible as well. I know I'm probably missing some things but this is what I got off the top of my head.

EDIT: You left out Anego and Bodyguard for high leveled content btw. If you add these, plus CWKPQ and Dojo your content lists are pretty equal.

I can't think of a better response/continuation to your first paragraph than to quote something from Trevor

Nostalgia isn't necessarily lost in adding new content. If done correctly it can greatly enhance the gameplay and enjoyment of the majority.

As for the decent xp, I believe he was more expressing his feelings about the monotony of endgame maple, looking for decent(Not better) alternatives to what many of us consider to be the best in order to prevent the masses from getting bored of the same old routine. You're absolutely correct in that we don't really have much to choose from, but at least leaving the door open to possibility is always a nice thing :)

Even if the options for both lower and higher end content do balance out, the time spent in each of the brackets massively tips onto the higher side, comparatively leaving you with not much to do.

I'm actually kind of suprised Neo City isnt in this version of Maple. Neo City is a high level zone with strong mobs and strong bosses. Neo City was certainly out before Big Bang yet doesnt exist here? Yet we have Ulu which came out after BB? I know Neo City came out much later in pre BB Maples Life span, but it isnt a bad place at all. Besides, it has a boss that 1 hits everything that only a few of us ranged players knew how to kill!

Honestly, I have no problem with adding any of the content that current day Maple uses, as long as it sticks within the Nostalgia and pre Big Bang guidelines. More Content=Options=More fun IMO.

Isn't this exactly what Royals has been doing? You've been around longer than I have and should know better than I how far Royals has come. As has already been mentioned they've added ToT and Ulu and plan on adding CWKPQ and Dojo. Honestly I find it kind of sad that people want more content before promised new content even comes out. No matter how much new content comes out people will always get bored of it after a while and want more, that alone is not a reason to push for something new.

That said, I never said new content shouldn't be added, just that there's really not much to add, and even if new content was added people would get bored of it and want more. It will be nice for a while, but as Sami said, "Doing the same stuff over and over again seems like a chore rather than fun." Even if the feasible things I mentioned and Neo City were added people would tire of it, it's a problem every game has.

Personally I think the best way to combat this is through new innovative events. Not just GM or forum events either, but the seasonal in game events. These were something that I always looked forward to on Maple, and every year they did something new to go with the old. If Royals could emulate this on a smaller scale I think it would keep people here and interested longer than new content.
