Dear Support, When the .exe is run, I get the message that no connection to the log-in server could be established. (See image) I have made an exception for MapleRoyals in my virus scanner. I have tried reinstalling the cliënt after completely removing the old folder as well as program. I have tried running compatability mode, namely administrator, Windows 7 and Windows Vista modes. I could play the game 1-2 months back. It occasionally gave the same error, but only recently I received this message every time I try to launch the game. I have updated my cliënt with the latest patches. I have tried to look for an answer in the troubleshooting thread, but was not able to find any working solution. Help on this matter is appreciated. Kind regards, Dirk
It seems running compatability Vista WITH Service Pack 1 allows the game to launch. Hopefully this helps others with the same problem.
Hi Abhi, You can right-click the 'application' on your desktop or in the Maple Royals folder. When you select 'properties' you can select the compatability mode in the 'compatability' tab. "Run this program in compatability mode for 'Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)'" NOTE: Today, after restarting the computer, I had the error again. When I now changed the compatability mode to Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) everything worked again. I don't know the reason, but it that seems changing the compatability mode between Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) and (Service Pack 2) resolves the problem.
Would you care to try this potential solution; http://royals.ms/Launcher.zip Extract the Launcher.bat file from the .zip, and place in your MapleRoyals folder, and double click Launcher.bat to try starting the game. Let me know if this helps at all, or if the issue persists.
Hi Matt and Andreas, Thank you a lot for helping me out on this issue. I am quite happy being able to launch the game when switching Vista Service Packs. This has worked 3 days in a row now in exactly the same way. I'll keep the download that Andreas sent as a back-up if my solution stops working. Kind regards, Dirk
