Hi im new and i have no idea about scrolls, can someone explain to me? What determines the price of the scroll? What scrolls should i use? What do the colors on a scroll mean?
Colors on scroll reflect the different % of the scrolls. 10% scrolls are light brown 30% scrolls are dark blue 60% scrolls are brown 70% scrolls are grey 100% scrolls are blue Chaos scrolls are dark blue with red border and a question mark White scrolls are well, ..., white
What determines the price of scrolls? Scroll price is, and historically has been, primarily related to the basic economic principles of supply and demand. On the supply side, scrolls such as White and Chaos scrolls, which are difficult to obtain, fetch a high price due to... well, being difficult to obtain (of course, they are also in high demand due to their unique functions). On the demand side, scrolls such as Int scrolls (overall int, for example) are pricey because of the demand for int equips. And the reason why int equips are so coveted is because they have the duality of 1) functioning as power boosts for magicians, who comprise a large portion of Royals (bishops master race) and 2) allowing all other classes to more effectively HP wash. Of course there are probably a few miscellaneous other factors, such as uniqueness or "novelty" which go into pricing--White Scrolls are valuable due in part to the fact that no other scroll fulfills its function, whereas scrolls like 10%/30% are somewhat interchangeable in a lot of cases--but for the most part, it's basic supply and demand. It's kind of nice how Royals' economy is relatively easy to predict in this respect; it's a self-contained economy with no foreign exports/imports, no real governmental taxes, no GDP/GNP, no corporations, or anything of the sort. It's mostly just basic supply and demand! Which scrolls should you use? It depends on the sort of player you are. There's a spectrum of playstyles ranging on one hand from "hardcore gamblers" to "hardcore linear progressionists." People on the gambling side of the spectrum wouldn't hesitate to spend 200m on 30% scrolls, knowing full well that all the money could be spent in vain. The appeal of this approach is that it's fun to gamble, and also because if you're lucky, you could potentially end up with a godly item with minimal price; however conversely, you could also end up wasting all your money on nothing. People on the linear progression side would rather spend that 200m on a guaranteed 15 int overall, for example, even if the scrolls required to make that overall would be less costly. The appeal of this approach is that you're guaranteed a decent item and there's no luck involved--it's simple hard work which you spend gathering the mesos which allows you to progress in the game. So which scrolls should you use, and when should you use them? It depends on where you fall on the spectrum. As an extreme example, consider this: you could spend 300m on 10 30%s overall int scrolls, and you could theoretically end up with a 50 int overall, which would be worth far more than the 300m you spent on scrolling it... but then consider that the probability of ending up with a 50 int overall is less than 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%. That's 1 with 268 zeroes in front of it. Yikes. Shawn already answered the question pertaining to scroll colors. Though I've always thought that 60%s are more of a reddish hue
