You can get quite a few "Quest Items", like the Chief Stan Hat and the Ludibrium Cape, that just sit in your inventory and don't offer much practical value. Are there any good uses for them or are they safe to discard?
I npc'd the cape and never even got the hat haha. Once you have a zhelm and other hat is basically obsolete anyway. Likewise for the cape because youre going to want to ise an atk pgc or scroll a lower level cape/yac for stats
I have seen private servers where this type of equipment was made tradeable, but when they are not I guess you're right in that they're worthless. The only reason to keep them is if they have some kind of usability for yourself. The sad thing, according to me, is that when you get rid of them, there's no way to get 'em back...
