Hello there , as promised here is some picture of my new computre (sorry for the crappy quality ...). So here it is , with some annotation of mine So from left to right --- Pny GeForce GTX 980ti , Corsair h75 with 120mm wather cooling module, I5 6600k, Silverston 600w SSF Psu , Silverston SG13B-Q case , Silverstone Short psu cable (youll see why i ordered those) , 1T Mushkin SSD , Asus Maximus VIII impact (not on picture ... didn't recived them at the same time , 2x Kingston Hyperx 8gb DDR4 ram) So close up to that Silverston case next to a 6inch Han Solo to show the size of the case The Maximus mother board next to the same Han Solo The Case with the front rad mountain (in push/pull config) the motherboard , cpu now monted in ... still missing that RAM ... they said 10.50 inch max video card , they werent wrong ... see next picture unmounted the Rad in case of ... since the GFX didnt entered the case from anyother way then the front finaly the SSD and the SSF psu are installed ... cable management is a nightmare ... litteraly no space , thanks to the Push pull config ... another view (from the opposite side of the videocard) ... even light cannot go trough so everything fitted Complet spec -Asus Maximus VIII impact -Intel i5 6600k -Corsair H75 -Kingston HyperX 8gb x2 -Mushkin Reactor 1TB SSD -OCZ agility 3 128gb (O.S. SSD) -PNY nVidia GeForce GTX 980ti -Silverstone 600w sfx psu -Silverstone SG13B-Q (solid front) case ---Benchmark--- Prime95 FFT stress test Original clock - Didn't test it Oc'd 4.3Ghz - 74 celcius Oc'd 4.0Ghz - 71 celcius 3dwork First Strike 1.1 Overall Score 12 216 Graphic Scrole 18 896 82fps / 68fps Physic Score 6927 22fps Combined Score 6325 29fps TL ; DR - Very happy with the result
gave a 2nd try to do some cable management to make it clean... but its really 2 tight to do it correctly... thx for the props
I'm interested in the kind of temps you get in this machine under load. Have you done any benchmarking?
been a bit lazy on it ... had a win update failure ... ill reinstall all the mobo monitoring software (gotta love that mobo for that) and after that benchmark all i can says i massively played fallout4 on ultra and The divisions on max and it doesn't SEEM to overheat at all (max i've seem was like 49 celcius --this is wrong but still highest i've seen-- on cpu with light OC ... i guess i can thx the Water cooling and the articsilver paste combo) But yeah , I know nothing beat a real Benchmark ... What would be your predilection program to run it ? I'll do a prime95 benchmark (seem like 30minutes give me my max temp already) for full load temp Edit : OC'd @ 4.3Ghz it reached 74c under full load for 30minute with prime95 FFT test ... ... i'll redo the test under lower clocking to see ... Edit 2 : Oc'd @ 4.0 keep it around 71c after 30minute. Everywhere i read it tell me that Watercooling reach his max temp after 30minutes , is that right ? if so i'm happy with the result ... even if 74 is a BIT hotter then what i expetectd this is a mini-itx btw ... didn't check what micro atx had to offer
You'll want to check the temps of your graphics card as that's where the 'bottleneck' will likely be if you are playing at ultra settings. I presume you are playing at 1080p? I'd be surprised if a single 980ti is able to cope with ultra settings at 1440p or higher whilst still giving a steady 60+ FPS. The CPU temps seem fine for a watercooled CPU under load in such a small tower. You should use 3dmark for benchmarking the graphics card.
alright , time to get that huge file XD Fallout4 doesn't give me the option to go hight then 1080p for the cpu temp , it was with full closed case , so yeah , probably could had run way lower if i had took my front panel (Solid front with tiny airvent on the side) down to get better airflow, or just bough the mesh front version XD EDIT 3dmark First strike result Graphics score 16.896 , Gtest 1 82FPS / Gtest2 66FPS Physics Score 6.927, Ptest 22FPS Combined Score 6.325, Ctest 29,42FPS For it's size , it do an amzing job i beat the rift minimum spec score so it do the job it was intended XD (the other one 4k gaming ... is 2x 980 so no chance i could beat that , not with that case and motherboard) just more number (for what this one worth) http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/998911 TL ; DR computer run and feel good
Dayum, solid setup... I've done extensive benchmark testing myself aswell with all the mentioned programs running for many many hours fully stable, but a game like Gta 5 on high settings will thoroughly test your setup for you, could never run that game without artifacting or running shut :/ Or even ultra with ur setup =P But nice project dude, wish I build this setup with my own hands PS: Check out heaven benchmark if you havent alrdy, id love to know ur score on everything maxed @ 1080p
just dled it , made 2 benchmark with it heres your result with default setting and with some costom one with everything max
Hahaha dayum bro. Really nice, doubling my scores pretty much. May i ask how much this setup costed in a rough sketch? Quite curious tbh that'll be many years of very enjoyable gameplay
around 2000 usd shipped (not assembled) ... (if you take out that 1tb SSD it will come a bit cheaper ... and that psu was overprice for being small form factor...)
Would sound like shit a shit load of money to those unknowingly, but 2k USD is fairly good, my setup cost me 1,1k euros and has much worse specs than yours n kinda outdated haha Guud Purchase! If you feel like doing some proper testing, hop on to gta 5 with me sometimes and we'll do a race, see how much you'll be able to keep up and the PC keepign up with the rendering at fast pace/speed xD
Yeah was pettry cheap ... but like I said there was no labor invested in ... plus all that time lost looking for those piece at perfect price ... would probably cost 2,500 if i hadn't done all the research and assembling myself not the GTA type , but maybe one day
