I still haven't seen something that the community is missing that this app could do though. All of the ideas mentioned we already have a way of providing it.
You have a way of providing but how inconvenient to have to go to the website everything. How nice would it be to be able to basically just completely text your royals friends anonymously from your real life
It does not take me more than 3 seconds to load the forum and i can already converse with the community anonymously. If you are talking about conversing with in-game friends, i can easily load up Skype in < 10 seconds. So what else can your idea provide that may potentially be commercially viable? Because based on what you have said so far, it is already an existing concept. So if i am the admin, knowing that such tools are readily available and are tested for its competency, why would i still want to go through the trouble of developing an API just so you could consume it for a purpose which already exists, whereas wouldn't it be better if the time that would be spent on developing the API be spent on the new source so it can be released sooner?
@IOException the only way anything gets increased views / increase population is because things become more convienient, and espeically from an admistration point I'd say that it allows for a lot of things. If there was a MapleRoyals app, you could chat with friends / guild / buddy chat / whispers. You could even make it to where you could make it time bosses, check on the status of the website, it could let you know of more news. Why does any website have an application for mobile? Because no one wants to have to go to the website, why not have something that is fit perfectly for the phone and works better. Not only that, why use skype when there would be a royals application that could do much more than just chat. I think it would be fun to get a small development team together to make this come together. Look at any exploding game, and they have a developer API. It is extremely important to have an API for expansion. There are a lot of things you can do with an API. It is extremely important.
These are all cool ideas but if they want a MR app they are going to hire web dev team and get exactly what they want with it. Who knows maybe you should post up your application to become a dev ?
@GriZ that is an amazing idea. I'm currently developing a test application for a chat system where you can register via my own regisration (using not mapleroyal credentials) and we can see how people would like something like that. I can then move on to add a few more things using web crawling, but only to show if it would be viable or not. If it could be viable I think I will definitely drop an application for it.
