Have never yet met anyone over all my years, but I do see there's more people from the Netherlands on here than there used to be. So perhaps!
Soooooooo as some of you will know and those I have on snapchat will have seen - I've had a very busy long weekend with @Penny, @Matt, @Stan, @Moo and @Ch0rus and I'm here to tell you all about it whether you'd like it or not! :3 Our story begins on Thursday, when Penny landed in London in the morning and we planned on going to lunch but we both napped and accidentally woke up later than we planned (foreshadowing for the rest of the weekend) sooooo we went out for dinner and drinks instead! Being London, it was pouring rain and I was making my way to a restaurant in Covent Garden to meet Penny at. After a few walks all around the area I realised I am not finding the place because it has been closed down so after a lot of walking to find a new place for foods, we ended up at Bill's (restaurant) having dinner around 10pm and staying until they genuinely kicked us out. I then took Penny out to a bar called Dirty Martini and we got many yummy drinks and had SUCH a good time! When the place closed at 3am I then decided to take her sightseeing so we walked around Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus and called it a night at around 4am ish. Spoiler: Pictures! So Friday, the plan was to go to the British Museum at 2pm but of course, we got delayed (you'll find this is a very repetitive element in our story). Penny made her way to my house with all her stuff because she was staying with me for the following 3 nights and that ended up taking longer than expected and we ended up getting to the museum at 4pm. We met up with Stan there and went around for about an hour (I also realised I forgot to bring my glasses), saw the mummies (like real dead bodies, it was hella freaky). We had dinner plans at 6 at a pub before going to see Billy Elliot in theatre with Jake and Matt, dinner ended up being rushed and we ran to the theatre and got in just in time! Afterwards, we (minus stan) headed to Temple where I took them to a bar called Walkabout and many many many many drinks were had and where Penny and I danced a lot whilst Matt and Jake sat down... and when that closed we headed to a casino where many more drinks (and chicken wings) were had. At 7am we left to go get breakfast at The Breakfast Club, which we got to 45 minutes before they opened so we stopped for hot chocolate in a cafe nearby until they opened. Had delicious breakfast and headed home to sleep ~ Spoiler: Pictures! So then for Saturday *surprise surprise* our plans got delayed again! For starters, waking up was really difficult lol. I think Penny and I woke up around 5pm and we were going to get ready and get to Flat Iron (an amazing steak restaurant) for 7. We took longer than expected to get ready (ofc) and then ended up waiting 25 minutes in the pouring rain for a bus (we suffered) from mine to the station and then waited another 15 minutes at the station because there had been an incident in the next station >.> So needless to say, we did not make it to the restaurant by 7, but we eventually met up with Matt, Stan and Eunice and got in, had amazing steak and a bottle of wine and headed to a random bar nearby where, you guessed correctly many many many more drinks were had. When the bar closed at 4am we went to the casino again to drink more and at 6am or so left to do more sightseeing! We walked to Trafalgar Square and then to the Big Ben and the Parliament, grabbed some coffee / pastries and headed home around 8am! I don't have many pictures from Saturday for some reason but I'm awaiting more pictures from everyone else anyways so hopefully they'll fill in the blanks for all the days! (We're also waiting on Stan's film photos to get developed!) Spoiler: Pictures! We had plans for Sunday. We really did. We were going to go Southbank and see the London eye and the area but... we slept (whilst poor Stan waited). We just slept until it was too late and since we had plans in the morning after we just stayed in, I made Penny some mac n cheese and we horntailed together in my bed. We tried really hard to sleep early (ish) and we finally succeeded at 5am! Spoiler: Pictures! SO then Monday! After 2 hours of sleep, we woke up and got ready to go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour! We were honestly both SO hyped about the whole thing, it was wonderful! I will not include all the pictures from the tour because spoilers - go yourself, it's truly amazing (I'd know I've been 5 times now). Spoiler: Pictures! From the studio we went back to my house, picked up Penny's stuff and headed to Stan's house (on the other side of London) for his birthday gathering. We had quite a few glasses of wine (I was very drunk which actually means I have no idea what actually happened most of the night) but we had a great time. We were sort of up all night (I know I napped for maybe 2-3 hours and Penny did for a couple hours as well) chatting and joking and playing with Stan's wonderful dog. Spoiler: Pictures! At 8am Pence had to leave the UK and Stan and I spent like 4 more hours talking before I finally went home and concluded this long long tiring weekend! I don't think I've ever spent this many constant hours with someone before but we sure did have a great time :3 I hope you enjoyed the many selfies of Penny and Aly! The end. <3 (That makes 19 people I've met from Royals!)
On the Saturday @Stan also brought along a camera so here are the pictures from that one! (since he was too lazy to upload them ofc jk love you stan) We have @Ch0rus in those ones also! yay Spoiler
Finally seeing them on my big screen has shown me how bewildered I look in every photo Pls @Aly I'm just giving you free likes!
In my defence, I even asked if you were gonna be late because you're always late. Just not *that* late Spoiler ily
Although a bit belated, @Shox bb stayed at my house back in march! Too bad I was always working and he was always home late We did get to enjoy a nice walk around my neighborhood trail though!
Story Time! Most people who know me are aware of the fact that I have major concerns for privacy. I'm the type of person who wouldn't in a million years take a photo of myself and post it online, let alone have a video chat or a Skype call with someone I met online without being sure I could trust them. No one on this server even knows what I look like and only a handful have ever heard my voice for more than a second. The steps I take to protect myself from people online while still maintaining friendships to a certain degree are great. Now, onto the fun part. Around six years ago, I was playing in GMS on one of my characters. I made several friends in-game, all of whom had no idea what my name was. One of these friends I eventually ended up talking to everyday, but only through the buddy list. We didn't have much in common, but we got to the point where we added each other on Skype. I told him about my fake identity and why I kept it a secret and he respected my desire to stay anonymous when meeting other people in-game. We talked every day on there, but never had a voice/video chat. About a year or two later, we had our first call while playing a different game. It was kind of awkward at first, but after many calls later, we built up enough trust to share phone numbers. Fast forward a couple more years, my brother and his friends joined our voice chats and team games. We grew pretty close, but no one knew what he looked like. Even my mother has had mini-conversations with him. He basically became part of the family so I figured it was probably time to meet up. We had planned to meet at my University because his brother attended the same school as me, which I never knew for the longest time. He ended up being busy and couldn't find a ride to come so that plan was cancelled. It wasn't until last week that we finally arranged for him to come to my house and just chill for a while. Turns out he did show up! We spent nearly an entire day doing what we normally did online, except in person this time. I paid for lunch with the group so everyone could meet him, had a LAN party, and played the Wii. (We obviously won in tag-team Mario Party against my brother and his friend). Not really, but it was fun! Time passed by so fast and by the time he drove back home, it was already past midnight. There's a couple of things I have to say about this experience. The first is that I never imagined myself even considering the thought of meeting someone irl, let alone having the person I met come to my house for the first meet-up. The second is that I don't regret it. I can now say that I truly understand what it means to consider the feelings of the person on the other side of the screen. The last thing I should mention is that even after this, I still don't recommend it to anyone. My encounter was harmless, but not every meet-up will be the same. Only after half a decade of being close friends did I allow myself to be put into this situation. TL; DR, if you want to chill with me, feel free to join my waitlist for 5 years before we hang out so I can criticize everything you do and say until you've accepted that I can be really annoying! Either that or buy me lunch and I'll meet you in SoCal tomorrow!
Edited because my friend who told me to post didn't want to take a picture with me. And also because I posted in the wrong thread.
Met my (now ex) boyfriend of 2 years hacking HT in GMS in 2008. He was from the US, I'm Australian - so I moved to Canada to close the gap a bit
