I think people take words far too seriously without bothering to know the intent. If every word that offended people was banned, nobody would be able to say anything. Everyone should just lighten up a little bit.

have to agree here. People could easily replace the N-word with "dude" or with the person's name (if known). You chose the words you use, as Daniel said.

I go to school in South Orange (right next to Newark), we have students jumped at the gates daily for nothing but leaving campus. You can guarantee that if you said the N-word to anyone around Newark, Camden, Elizabeth, or any city, you'd probably be shot and killed if not ambushed and beaten to a pulp.

Tl:Dr, I agree with Daniel, choose your words wisely.

I disagree. It is a slur with a terrible history behind it. It was used to treat an entire race of people as if they were less than dirt. you can certainly use it if you want to, but that'll just make it even more popular; even more white people would say it, and that's why it is such an issue in the first place.
but if you use it in an offensive way (i.e "stop being such a fucking negro" [I think I heard someone say this on a private server once, not sure if it was royals]) then you're just a dick
and if someone asks you to stop saying it and you refuse, congratulations, you're an enormous dick

wow @ the guy under me
