What gear pieces should I focus on to get the best bang for my buck with a fairly limited cash flow? EDIT: I'm a lvl 52 cleric
buy a zhelm, dep star, and lvl 70 ele wand (don't really spend too much on it, since most of your exp will probably come from partying with others anyway. like HS'ing at WS or partnering at himes. the lvl 130 wand is the one you want to be serious about) make a maple magician shield and you can hunt 7 int blue jewelry shoes from bubblings and 9 int doros robe from jr.wraiths (or stirges, not sure, but theyre in the same map) in the subway. int scrolls are pretty expensive (especially gloves ma 30/60, and shield ma 30/60/70), but if you have some, you can land them on work gloves, capes, earrings and shield. Don't worry about getting good gloves and shield right now though since those items are pretty expensive, and you don't need to worry too much about your damage in 3rd job as a priest. gloves 70, cape 30/60/70 and earring 70 are pretty affordable scrolls so you could get some of those if you want to scroll your own items. So I think based on your lvl and budget right now, hunt or make yourself: doros robe (9 int) blue jewelry shoes (7 int) maple magician shield highest priority (to buy): zhelm dep star lvl 70 ele wand (around 100 tma is fine) lower priority (to buy or scroll): cape (scroll with 30s, 60s or 70s) earring (scroll with 70s) gloves (scroll with 70s) lowest priority (to buy or scroll): high int/ma shield ---- then, in the future, you could try landing int 60s on your zhelm and robe once you make more money
Thank you for the detailed response! Does it matter what elemental wand I get? I thought there was a negative percent damage if you don't select the right wand. For the int robes, will the zakum helmet make up enough LUK so I can equip these? I will work on getting the reqs for doing zakum ASAP
I think 2/3 were the more common, cheaper lvl 70 ones, so i guess get one of those. Bishops don't get a penalty for ele wands, so just use the cheaper variety, it's the mages that have to worry about types, priests just care about magic. if you get 16 luk from zhelm and 5 from dep star, thats enough to wear the doros (needs 25) and jewlry shoes (needs 23). if you the zhelm gives you less than 16, then add some luk on your cape for now i guess. EDIT: Actually it might be better to get some shield luk scrolls and use them on a wooden shield or something to get the extra luk in the meantime rather than the cape
To be honest, I bought nothing when I was making my cleric because heal doesn't really matter about tma (I think). You'll be partying a lot after 75 too so it really doesn't matter. If you don't feel like searching for a ele wand, you can also go farm red slimes in showa spa for the level 64 maple wisdom staff and fallen earrings. staff 30s/60s are pretty cheap in comparison to wand scrolls and you could scroll the earrings (they come with avg 2 matk clean) with like 60/70s for relatively cheap too.
