"Mid-life crisis as a Maplestory character is now a joke." A non-comprehensive guide on why you should pick the Beginner class over other classes. Disclaimer: This guide is aimed for people who are wondering what class they should choose when they start their first character in MapleRoyals, or for seasoned players who have more experience about the game overall however do have an interest in starting a character as a Beginner. This guide will not cover in depth any of the multiple types of builds that a Beginner will develop into, eg: Islander, Competitive Beginner, Snail crusher etc... Therefore, this guide is by no means a complete guide for you to choose how to construct a beginner in MapleRoyals. The bulk of the content in this guide is designed to reflect on own knowledge on the experience that I have had on playing as Beginners. Inaccuracies may be seen throughout this guide and you may not agree with a few or many points that have been constructed. Hopefully this guide will clear some of the misconceptions on why people choose the Beginner class and provide some insight into how a beginner functions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) Why u beginner y u beginer? why you choose beginner? A common question asked by many players is why someone would choose a class that has no skills, slow to level up, and frankly, just plain boring to play with! First of all, what is a Beginner? A Beginner is a character in Maplestory that does not fit in with the normal classification of four job advancements a normal character would take, which would be: Warrior, Magician, Rogue, and Bowman. Beginners can be called by many as an unorthodox character class following an unorthodox build and development throughout their leveling. A break down of the pros and cons of the Beginner class Below are some of the benefits for Beginners over other jobs/classes should you choose to play as a Beginner: Unique class to play with. 90% discount on Taxis between traveling between all towns on Victoria Island. No Experience lost when you die. Less dependant on Mana potions once you find a decent weapon to slay your monsters. Usage of mana will be on the skill 'Three Snails' which deal a pure 40 damage regardless of monster's weapon defence. Extra weapon defence against monsters over other classes. Damage growth from level 35 to 36 with a Maroon Mop is immense and will be one of the strongest regular built classes until other jobs catch up in damage output until around late level 60's. Mid-life crisis as a Maplestory character is now a joke. Being an Islander: -No experience lost when you die, as stated above. -Grind alone at Orange Mushrooms. -Gear up, wear weapons that drops from monsters. -Sit like a fat ass, gain HP and MP on The Relaxer. -Hang out with hot girl Mia. -Break boxes! Get free potions and sell it for mesos. -Wear a Stolen Fence like a boss. -Nimble Feet makes you walk around at high speed. -Recovery can save you on potions, not even a Cleric with max Heal could beat it! -You don't need DEX or LUK to hit mobs, STR all the way! . Courtesy of Blade The drawbacks on playing as a Beginner: Unorthodox class to play with, as stated previously. Not one of the main 4 classes that comes with Maplestory, should be even considered to be played! You will not see Nexon advertising about how good a Beginner is nor will they showcase this class' skills. Boring class that has no skills! A character that just uses normal attacks. B.O.R.I.N.G!!! The amount of savings on travel and consumables is minimal, so much so that spending those extra mesos usually does not impede on character development and training for those who have advanced as a regular job. Very limited selection of the different equipment you could wear compared to other regular jobs. This in turn will limit these aesthetics and stats of a Beginner over the choices for other classes. Positive characteristics that are very favourable for many players. Beginners are very weak in damage output compared to other regular classes until they wield the Maroon Mop. Beginners have very low survivability, meaning that they will usually die from 1 touch from higher leveled monsters, unlike a character of the regular class (don't touch me!). A keen sense of tenacity (perseverance), and resourcefulness skills are required to become a well-developed Beginner. _________________________________________________________________________________ 2) Analysis. Damage Brief description of damage output: Assuming the a typical Beginner would wield a Maroon Mop, his/her damage output would be around 300 to 3000+! during its prime hour, depending on the character attribute build, and applies around level 36-70. Notice the big damage range difference, this is the range of damage output before monster w.def is taken into consideration. During each of the slower speed swings/sweeps damage output would be greater, whereas each jab attack would deal lesser amount of damage. Having normal attack as your primary source of damage means that some monsters in the game will resist using their magic attack, which the damage is normally not reduced. This is a function that has been hard coded into the Maplestory Engine. Feedbacks are welcome!
If not choose to become an Islander. So, what is an Islander? An Islander is a character in MapleRoyals that does not fit in with the normal four job advancements a normal character would take, or SuperGM. It can be called bla bla bla bla bla. They do not bla bla bla bla bla. Benefits of being an Islander: -No experience lost when you die, as stated above. -Meet the legendary Islander, Chokladkakan. -Take drugs!
