I was playing during the 8x exp and It was pretty laggy close to 2k people online.. I suggest that next time something like this happen maybe give exp/drop coupons to everyone instead, then the whole server wont be online at once, resulting in less lag and also less competition for maps. I also think that it would be more fair compared to having 4 times during 2 days where all times are good for some timezones and other timezones not so much.

The issue that occurred near the end of the recent 2x period was due to a 100Gbps DDoS attack, which caused the filters to unintentionally filter out some packets from some of our players, mainly in Europe.

    In regards to coupons: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/2x-exp-drop-weekend.67447/#post-348895

But hopefully a similar issue shouldn't happen in the future now that we have taken preventative steps.

No need to answer if you don't feel comfortable doing so, but are the attackers just resentful players that have a gripe with this server or other servers completely or what? Is this a common occurence?

There's no way to know who is behind a DDoS attack as botnets are used in most cases, especially with a 100Gbps sized attack. It's been quite a while since there was a noticable DDoS attack. Usually our DDoS protection does a good enough job that they go unnoticed.
