Hi guys! I am iRambo and I would like to present an idea about receiving EXP at intervals/checkpoints during bossing, whether it is after % HP of the boss reduced or time which has passed in the boss fight. I am not sure if this idea has been posted in earlier threads, but I hope you guys will support it. In view of the server lags, players tend to disconnect at unfortunate times during bossing which means that they do not receive any EXP at all for the amount of damage they have inflicted on the boss. Especially when GM's are usually busy and are not able to re-warp players at times, I wonder if it is a good idea for players to be able to receive EXP before ending the boss at regular intervals. Here are some suggestions: Krex Option 1: Receiving EXP at 75%, 50%, 25%, 0% health left respectively for each eye OR Option 2: Receiving EXP every 10 or 15 minutes Zakum Option 1: Receiving EXP at 75%, 50%, 25%, 0% health left respectively for each body OR Option 2: Receiving EXP after every body OR Option 3: Receiving EXP every 10 or 15 minutes when attacking the body Horntail I have not tried Horntail before because I'm not level 155 yet due to disconnecting from Zakum and Krex and not receiving enough EXP :c Feel free to comment an idea for Horntail and any other bosses Anyway, this will ensure that those who are not able to get re-warps in time to at least receive some EXP before disconnecting so that players will not feel as if they have wasted their time. Plus, THIS COULD BE A TEMPORARY SOLUTION before the New Source comes out I hope you guys concur with my idea. Have a blessed day. Cheers, iRambo a.k.a future top sair if no mass dc
Getting exp after a period of time when attacking boss will not work as people will abuse it, e.g. washing character simply attack the boss with a lvl 10 sword for a said amount of time to get the exp. The rest of the options are good tho.
If the point of this is because of server sided dc issues then it sounds very unnecessary, we already have the new source coming.
On top of what Andreas has said, we also have what should be some much better DDoS protection being rolled out soon which should help with the regional disconnects caused by our current DDoS protection provider.
Well yeah you can phrase it crudely as a "part of a part" but you cannot deny the fact that it takes very long from Zak's post-arms exp to its 3rd body exp. I suggest you don't look at this from a myopic perspective, but rather a broader view & least try to understand the logic behind this idea.
First and second body has nothing to do with the exp from third body, so you don't lose any exp and this wouldn't make any difference since you would still need a GM warp. There is no release date but it's very far in development, will be a lot easier to tell after the next 2-3 updates!
Ahh this makes more sense. Alright thanks Andreas for clarifying! however I still have a few points to add: 1. While I understand that the new source will be free from such server disconnections, perhaps this could be TEMPORARY solution until the new source comes out? 2. If Zak's exp only comes from 3rd body (if I understand correctly), is it possible to TEMPORARILY split the exp from 3rd body among the 3 bodies, for eg: B1: 25% of whole body exp B2: 25% of whole body exp B3: 50% of whole body exp Bottom line is, should this be implemented, it doesn't have to be permanent because it will defeat the purpose of the new source. As such, it would be more practical imo for it to be a temporary solution, at least till the new source comes out Also it can lessen the burden on GMs who have to tirelessly warp players especially during server lag/ mass dc's. If anything, thanks in advance for at least hearing us out and considering! Cheers, iCross
That's a lot more realistic in doing at least for Zakum, yes it can be done, it wouldn't help GM's in any way since people who go Zakum are there for loot + exp so the rewarps needed will not change. Besides maybe confusing some players I don't see it as a bad thing to do and it would be a relatively easy thing to do, I don't see any problems with such a change, not my decision though
