You may waste your time debating over it all you want but it's part of my culture and banning me without warning for something I've done for decades that is part of my culture is hella harsh. Ever heard N.I.G.G.A from Tupac? there's a reason he's been credited with legitimizing the term. I honestly don't think I deserve to be banned for 4 days for something that's part of my culture and without warning. I can understand that it's your server and you don't want me to do it again but being banned without warning when I've never committed any offense is definitely not the way to go . I could understand a megaphone ban without warning but a 4 day ban feels pretty harsh. I've read the rules and abided to them excuse me if I didn't click on the link where it said was profane most people don't even read the rules. TLDR: I made a mistake and always abide by the rule I think I deserve a little help and will make sure not to do it again. Help a brother out. P.S. We disagree on the status of the word that you used - at MapleRoyals, that word is simply one that we don't tolerate in smegas, and is among a short list of words that are highly negatively charged that the system automatically bans players for using. We mean no offense to you or anyone else who uses the word in a positive manner, however we respectfully ask that you only use the word in private settings - your buddy list, guild, and among your friends, and not in public media such as smegas or in highly trafficked areas. And as a small final note - not reading the rules is not a reason for leniency if you break them. Your three (not four) day ban will not be overturned, and will be your warning that there are some things we just don't allow.
All right. Still feel like it's fairly easy censor or make it not go through smega rather than autoban. If it's such a big deal you should censor it in every chat. Telling me I can use it in anything but megaphone clearly shows that it doesn't exactly matter nearly as much as you make it seems to be . I don't know everyone in my guild nor do I know all my buddy list or how they feel about the word it could also affect the guildmates as much as a megaphone. If it was such a big deal as you make it out to be why isn't it prohibited or censored in EVERY chat. You're literally telling me it's only right SOMETIMES. Counterproductive and flawed. Just my 2 cents I don't acknowledge this ban as a warning because it is not. It's a punishment despite a first offense from a flawed law. Might as well tell me commiting a crime when no one is around is okay but not in public.
In a guild or buddy list setting, you and the people you have chosen (and that word is key, because you have to make the choice to be on another individual's buddy list, and you have the choice to stay in a guild or leave one) can discuss the use of the word privately if they do not appreciate your use of the word. On a mass broadcast setting, you are transmitting that word to hundreds of people that you do not know and have no idea how comfortable they are with seeing that word used. The difference is that. I never once claimed that using the word is a crime, just that the word has very strong connotations to some people and so we do not allow it to be broadcast to large volumes of people to prevent players from becoming uncomfortable. If you do not want to view your ban as a warning, then that is your own prerogative. That is what your ban is, though. On this server, we aim to keep public spaces free from media that may make large groups of people uncomfortable. That includes use of that words as, while you may find it legitimized, many people still do not. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.
