Your rules need some rework. You're telling me I can say on small scales like 20 guildies/40 alliances members but I can't use it on megaphones and you ban me instantly for it while some other folks talks about Anal sex in megaphones and only get a blue notice warnings. Now let me get this straight. Sure I'm banned and whatever that's fine. But going around and telling me I can do something as long as not many people see me is just plain wrong. You either allow it or you don't there's no in between. Why can't you just censor the words or block them in Megaphones. That's not hard to do nor is it really time consuming. Why is talking about Anal sex in Megaphone not an insta-ban but saying is? Unfair treatment ? Maybe. Flawed rule? Definitely. I wrote a ban appeal and he told me it was okay in BL/Guild/All but then told me some things are just not allowed on Mapleroyals? Make up your mind. If it was as bad as you make it up to be then why is it allowed SOMETIMES. /rant+feedback deuce EDIT: Even Anal sex isnt censored on here but n word is. Savage af. Might as well censor gay because it can be used as a derogatory term. Many words can be used a derogatory term yet doesn't auto-ban you. Flawed and unfair censorship son I swear.
Hey you're Canadian too we're suppose to be nice people!!!! Anyways, saying the n word (and this goes to every word that can be seen as being offensive) amongst your friends and saying it in smega where everybody on the server can see it is 2 completely different things. A lot of people here don't like seeing such words being thrown around and take it seriously, whether it's due to how they were brought up or personal experiences, regardless what their reasons are, they don't like it so it's best to just not allow the word in smega altogether. I'll agree that the current auto-ban system does bait you a little and it would be nice to have certain words auto-censored instead of auto-banning you but for now this is how it is. As for having smega conversations on possible controversial/sensitive topics like anal sex in your example, usually after a while if people find it inappropriate or offensive enough and/or if a gm is on, they'll warn you telling you to stop and if you still continue even after being warned then that's on you for getting yourself banned. Just try to be as considerate as possible when engaging in conversations and you'll be fine!
Supposed to be nice people? Say what. How am I not nice. I wasn't the one talking about inappropriate sexual stuff in megaphone heck i'd be happy to get away with just a warning like he did. I used the word n!gga because it's part of my culture and if you were black and watch BET all your life which btw promote equality, black and LGBT pride and also broadcast the word n!gga quite often you would also use it casually without even thinking about it because it shouldn't be made such a big deal. Most TV channel also broadcast it and the other n word including national chain and the most popular one like HBO. Just try to be considerate *cough* It's whatever let's just censor some stuff but not everything because it's easier that way and auto ban bait some words over others because it's fair and equal this way. As a black male I feel quite discriminated against on this server, as I'm not allowed to use a common greeting such as n*gga to my friends. It is not offensive. It is part of our culture. I've noticed Admins and GMs here dislike LGBT also. They ban anyone who dares to say gay, homosexual, or f*ggot, because they strongly believe those words and traits are NEGATIVE and can only be used as insults or in a derogatory manner. Sad.
Preach! Those words shouldn't be seen as as negative ! It fuels people's perception of the word gay and n*gga as wrong or bad. This make it recognized as a derogatory term when it's not and censoring it is just as bad as using gay to describe something one dislike.
Okay, it's quite simple. We are an all inclusive server who allows all types and walks of life here. As part of that commitment, we try to have this server be a safe haven and in order to prevent issues, do not allow certain terms to be used in SMEGAs. If you find a SMEGA that is ban worthy or truly offensive, you can always take a full client screenshot and submit an abuse report. There's no debating this as this is how we choose to run the server and it is not up for discussion.
