We all work together, and it's awful that you'd do that at a networking event. Not to mention, it's hard enough "making it" as a woman in this industry.

Yes, I know what the freaking convention boost is, but like... did these people actually watch the same convention that I did? Did they hear the same acceptance speech that I did??? Cuz that shit terrified the f out of me.

I seriously want to meet some real life Bernie or Bust people. Like seriously, who are you people? WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE. Its the actual equivalent of going to an ice cream store, wanting chocolate, told that there's only vanilla left, and then saying, "Let me eat shit then." Also, maybe it doesn't matter for you if it's Trump or Hillary because you're privileged enough to be relatively ok either way.

But please, PLEASE, PLEASE think about your fellow WOMEN and BLACK/LGBTQIA/MUSLIM/IMMIGRANT/POOR/LATINX/ASIAN/INSERT ANY MINORITY GROUP AMERICANS who don't have that luxury, who WILL be impacted, many in literally life-threatening ways.

People don't seem to understand that the two party system isn't just the product of our culture or society — it's a product of the actual structure of our electoral system. We don't have a preferential voting system. This two party thing isn't something that just changes if enough people vote third party.

I swear... if this election comes down to people actually flocking to Trump or to Gary Johnson, and then crying à la Brexiters who said "I didn't know my vote counted" or "I wanted to send a message," I'm moving to Australia.

I cannot live in a country where on national (and international) TV, my president has claimed that a woman questioned his abilities and judgement because she was menstruating, has linked a female opponent's abilities to how unattractive she is, has used a female opponent's so-called inability to "satisfy her husband" as proof of lack of leadership skills, has compared his penis size to an opponent's to get ahead, or has proposed banning all people of a particular religion from entering my country, or has called all people from a particular country rapists and murderers... the list goes on and on.

 

Why can't people just be honest and say their true feelings instead of making up an excuse and then doing the opposite where everyone (including I) can see?

 

I need to stop drinking.
