Hi I've only been playing for a few weeks. So far I'm really enjoying the game, although ever since I advanced into third job- the Outlaw, I'm pretty disappointed. I'll elaborate. I'm only satisfied with 2 out of 6 skills from the tree. No complaints at all about Burst Fire and Homing Beacon. As for the rest- Octopus: Petty little octopus, sitting there and not doing much damage. Gaviota: Definitely the worst skill in this tree!!! Barely damages enemies, plus it disappears after one hit- a pretty recent "fix". While we're forced to raise Gaviota to level 15 in order to have Airstrike at 4th job, this "fix" makes Gaviota even more useless at this level than what it is at level 1! It's the same basically but double the cooldown. What was that for? Why make it so that raising a skill gives the opposite effect of making it better? Please explain. Ice Splitter: The stun effect works, but the damage sucks. Flamethrower: Haven't raised this skill yet, but the effect doesn't work and the damage sucks too. TLDR- Meanwhile as other 3rd job classes keep getting better and better, basically outlaws peak once they've reached the level when they maxed Burst Fire, Homing beacon and have raised Ice Splitter to level 26. All this basically makes my experience pretty bad. The game isn't rewarding for me where it is to others because now I just want to get to level 120 "to not suck" plus I'm too weak to be able to level on my own normally so I'm forced to buy leech. Thank you for reading Hoping to make a change -Zazzo
Max fire and 26 ice Get Blaze/Ice capsules Grind Himes to 120 like everyone else - simple. Summons are junk outside of prereqs for 4th job skills, and Burst Fire is good. Edit: Oh, and have a macro with ice/fire or vise versa on it. It helps when you're sitting still mobbing a huge group.
If there was a priority list of which classes need buffs. Corsairs would be very very close to the bottom. They are already getting unnecessary buffs in the new source.
You talk about Corsairs (fourth job) which I'm sure are quite powerful as I'm really looking forward to getting there, but I'm talking about outlaws (third job) which are clearly as I said, really underpowered comparing to other classes' third jobs. Dismissing my complaints isn't fair if you only consider what it's like for fourth jobs.. The buffs don't seem unnecessary at all to me @CrimsonJohnny Thank you for your tips c:
You're right that Outlaws are a fairly underpowered 3rd job class; they're also underpowered in 1st and 2nd job as well, if you really look at it. This purposefully there, to counteract the fact that they have the highest 1v1 damage ceiling in the entire game in 4th job. Simply put, why make 3rd job easier for a class that's going to become debatably broken after level 136? The balance is exactly as it's meant to be.
The game doesn't revolve around 3rd job. The majority of the game revolves around 4th job. Corsairs are the second best class in the game. I think it's fine that their 1st/2nd/3rd job sucks.
I think complaints that they have a bad 3rd job are overblown, honestly. It's not perfect but it's not bad. Certainly not so bad that you'd be "forced to buy leech".
I see your point- it's overpowered so it's made to be harder to achieve(?), so that's explained Question still stands though, at least about the functionality of some of the skills- mainly Gaviota and Flamethrower. Is that on purpose? Maybe I won't be as upset by this by the time I reach fourth job, but still I wanted to share my experience I'm talking about mainly third job because getting your character to level 70 is made easier with PQs, quests, etc.. For the time being there's not much I can do on my own to gain levels (unlike my friends)- nothing close to what I gain from leeching
There are a lot of skills in the game that aren't the greatest. There are a lot of skills in the game that are completely useless too. That comes with every class though, not just outlaws. Corsairs have to go through possibly the toughest 1st-3rd jobs. But once you hit 4th job, you will be rewarded. To be honest though. If you're gonna make a sair. Might as well just go nl.
Wat, I thought sair was just as good as NL without needing performance enhancing drugs(SE) to function? Pirate HP washing formulas are godawful tho
I actually have played a sair, I hated it. Corsair is better than NL against a boss that barely attacks. Corsair isn't better when it comes down to horntail, which is sadly the end game on royals. Corsair's hp washing situation isn't an advantage They suck if you hp wash. Corsair being fun is 100% subjective. To a lot of people, including me, corsair is an incredibly annoying class. You have to pay attention during boss fights like horntail. While doing the same, or less, damage than heroes and night lords. The argument that is "Nightlords are only good with se" isn't really even relevant. Like 90% of the time there will be a Bowmaster or Marksman in your party for boss runs. Making an se mule isn't very difficult either seeing as attack gear isn't difficult to come by anymore. I would suggest to anyone trying to decide whether they want to go sair or nl, to just go nl. The uniqueness of corsair may seem attractive to some people. But once you actually play the class, most people will dislike it. There's a reason why night lord is so popular. It's insanely over powered.
I made an corsair as my first character on this server i had no funds and decent gear wasnt as easy to come by at that point since the server had not been up for long. Anyways I remember sniping newties and farming headless horse men during my 3rd job, i used to ask friends to hs me before i made my own hs mule. imo the harder the struggle the greater the achievement you will just struggle for a while but when you get 4th job and you will feel great about it. @Boshy and @ImCanadian The point here is people like different classes and play styles hence dont tell them which class is better or worse for them, they will just end up playing a class that they dont like. just like you both did when you played nl and sair.
Shouldnt Crusaders and White Knights complain more? They have literally no new skills till 4th. Imagine using that same crappy 130% skill from 10~120.
Maybe Outlaw's fire and ice skills could be buffed to match the numbers shown in hidden-street.net? http://bbb.hidden-street.net/character/class/outlaw My main is currently a lv97 outlaw and i sure am fining it a chore to grind on newties. buffing/fixing fire and ice shots could open up more possibilities in training. I remember burning the entire ghost pirate map and returning to 1 hot the mobs! Hope we'll see some positive changes to the pre-corsair job line. Would be awesome if we saw battleship cannon fire 5 shots at all levels like i remembered! not too sure about that tho
I used to train with a friend of mine (when i was level 8x ~ 9x) on duo at newties, what he used to do was freezing them for taking no damage, and then spamming triple shot. He leveled as fast as i did.
