Any way you could shed some light on why we're changing the ToT spawn? Wasnt the point of ToT to be a place for end game players to train at?

Far as I remember the spawn rate was custom changed here at some point for ToT, and I assume it will just be changed to be as it was in GMS.
Since I don't train at ToT myself I can't really tell how different it actually is, there have also been many changes to spawn pattern and similar since I last was doing stuff in ToT on Beta, but it was lower.

After the next database update on the Beta it will be a lot easier to get accurate information on how different it is.

That isnt to say that changes might happen before it's finalized too. We're always changing things, always up for input on whether spawn rates should be increased somewhere, why, etc.

I have played a few servers that have ToT the way it originally was. It seems like the spawn is just barely good enough for it to be bearable to the quest. It's nowhere close to be good enough to actually train. I would hate to see a great map like Ob4 or Ob2 taken away from non-mage characters.

I doubt that would happen, even if changing the spawn is not a viable option, increasing the exp of mobs would work, so it's not like it would be left to die just like that :D

Yeah, I know it has been stated and won't happen. I'm completely fine with it not happening though, don't get me wrong; but I think it could've been a nice thing to have. I mean sure we can sell Petri leech for more but Bishops can sell GS, WS, Ulu, Skeles without the extra work.

Regarding what you said after that:

Yep, you're right. Having a HS mule balances AMs with Bishops because you're technically making a bishop (up to 3rd job) lol. That's not real balance, it's just what the system allows us to do in order to not be that underpowered.

Also, the price of books is irrelevant. Gene is expensive because the Bishop:Arch Mage ratio is like 20:1 and no wonder it is. The high demand makes these books expensive. The fact there's barely any AMs around means the books will be cheap.

In any case, I like my AM. I like when people are like wow, there's not a lot of you guys out there. :p

My mage is only level 104 but I've already had a ton more fun training him up than I ever did my bishop. I loathe playing on my bishop for anything other than quick farming of something, or bahamut-farming for whatever. I liked training with Heal, but once it wasn't very viable to just use heal spam anymore I grew bored. I hate their skill set, myself. They're this odd mixture of battle and support. I love my mage so far and can't wait to get to 4th job on it. I think bishops vs AMs are just really different too, because like I said a bishop is this mixture of support and battle. An AM isn't supportive at all, they're not meant to be.

The mage classes are so poorly thought out to begin with there really isn't much that could be done that wouldn't throw everything out of wack

Hi, I have a nice little suggestion: make Meditation stackable with wizard elixirs / onyx apples. Because right now, a Cleric/Priest/Bishop basically has access to Meditation, because a wizard elixir gives the same magic attack. Give Mediation a bit more value / uniqueness by making the skill stackable with consumables. :) You can give Bless the same treatment and make the weapon & magic def. stack too, to give that spell some uniqueness as well.
