I just started playing this game today and it wouldn't allow me to go into windowed mode. At first i just dealt with the fullscreen because the game was going fine but after a few minutes or so, the screen just blacks out and I have to alt + tab out and go back into the game to make it fine. This happens every couple minutes and it's really annoying so I'm trying to find a way to play in windowed. However, alt + enter doesn't work, it just shows a black box at the top right with numbers and trying to click on the windowed option in the system options menu doesn't work either. It just makes a ding noise. I've also tried setting my screen resolution from 1920x1080 to a lot smaller before running the client, but that didn't work either. I'm currently on windows 10 with a nvidia gtx 970 graphics card, drivers updated. If anyone has a solution to my problem please share.
tried it, still can't go into windowed even tried to run it as admin without changing resolution trick but doesn't seem to work
Do you by any chance use more than one monitor? If so, make one of the other monitors the primary one and see if that'll fix the problem.
I know this might be a bit outdated and maybe you found a solution by now but I was searching the forum to see if anyone had a solution as my game randomly stopped working in windowed mode. I managed to fix it so thought I'd share. I'm on Windows 10. Right click desktop -> Display Settings Display -> Advanced display settings -> Display Adapter Properties -> Monitor If your screen refresh rate is set to 59 Hertz then change it to 60 Hertz and press apply. Restart your game and cross your fingers! This solution worked for me, hope it works for you and anyone else searching for a fix to this issue.

Shona's fix didn't help me. Any more ideas? Still can't minimize and also get the ding noise when I try Windows 10
