The most popular private server?

They've always been 2x. For the past little while that server has been dying.

 

I'm not here to fight with you, so this may be my last response to you. Just because YOU have been playing since 2005 doesn't mean that ALL of us have been. My GMS experience has been vastly different than yours because we played GMS at different times. What is my point of saying that each of us has a different snapshot of nostalgia experience? Just because you think that nostalgia means making buddies in KPQ and dying to rogs on the long orbis ship doesn't mean that all of us share that same experience. When I first joined MapleRoyals, my nostalgic sense shot up when I heard the background music of the maple login screen. My nostalgic experience is trying to steal the steelies when a leecher was leeching me at harpies so I can make some of that money back. My point, which I have clearly stated in this response and my last one, is that since we all have different experiences, why not let the OP decide for himself whether or not this is a nostalgic experience for him.

Secondly, as much nostalgia you can have, nothing can exactly be the same. You can't replicate the same huge player base of GMS to MapleRoyals for one, which means that even if everything was exactly the same, that one aspect changes everything. How about the Pay2Win aspect of GMS. That is completely different than MapleRoyals and that's something that cannot be changed. People and things grow and change. You can't live in the ghost of the past; that's why it's called the past. We can do our best to take what has been in the past and "improve" on it, which is the unique MapleRoyals experience. Whether you think you like it or not, that's up for each of us to decide, not just you.

 

iirc, didn't you get banned after the third offence? That means, you had 2 chances to change your behaviour. Instead, you chose to break the same rule again and again, and finally, a permanent ban. Your case does not even remotely seem like "banned for no good reason". If you don't have new evidence to support your ban appeal, of course people would close and lock your thread, why would anyone want to spend the time explaining something that was explained again to you?



If you feel like your ban is unjust, all I can say to you is you had 2 second chances man. And you blew them all.

 

@Benizakura You do you dude, but I just feel like the investment of time and energy that it takes to shit on a server you want nothing to do with on their forums is like... I don't know, maybe not worth it?

I agreed on that as i remember especially there used to be a training camp back then, it was a living hell reaching 30, no 3rd or 4th job advancements, etc. I am concerned that many things have changed to increase game experience so it can be fun. Though it wasn't in my attentions to find an unmodified gms, i still found back the nostalgia i was seeking for and that's all i wanted in the beginning.

Dude.. What the hek are you talking about? You obviously sound one of those ''pay2win'', ''Mesos is everything'' player. I could give you 100 youtube links, where people actually talk about Old MapleStory. People actually had good time making friends in KPQ, dying at rogs etc.. I can guarantee, atleast 50% of maplestory have quitted the game ever since BB patch. Also why would MapleRoyals put ''Nostalgic v62 server ( soon v83 i think )'' when it isn't nostalgic very much. I could easily login to original maplestory and hear the login screen music, but that doesn't mean nostalgia hit me when the game is screwed up.

Strong words Dude. How about you actually check the facts and search all my posts and read them while waiting for your mom to bring your coffee to your table. My first time getting a ban is because i told GM dimitri to consider another job, which he took so personally xd, but when other forum members come to my page and write to me : stupid loser with an anxiety etc.. Nothing is done and it's more offensive. My second ban was because i used a smega saying: I will humiliate you GM dimitri, i made a video which i'm gonna upload and make you look a bad GM. WHICH he forum banned me twice after that, because i just simply said i'm gonna upload the video to forums. Probably scared of the truth when he told me that he doesn't care about forum users opinions. 3rd ban was the most ridiculous ban ever, i simply got banned for calling a wannabe amateur player multiple times a LIAR, which was ''offensive'' and which he eventually admitted he is a liar, TWICE. Later they took this offensive also that same day ''B>Defame for this player right here'' WHICH he never got defamed, only twice by me which is allowed, and once by my friend that was against him too. Later i tried to argue with the Staff members... I kept facepalming myself million times when they answered. What is the reason of fames and defames anyway. If you can't make a fame system like in other private servers, seriously you guys need to hire more experienced staff members. This will get me forum banned. Ohh and about forum bans, i got a 2 week ban once without any messages to my hotmail and i couldn't read my reasons i got banned. You can't even post a report abuse when you are forum banned ( i've suggested this in my threads with many other suggestions, which staff members closed the thread without listening to other players opinions ). So.. so, i suggest you check my latest ban appeal, there are many SS, which makes me look like a nice guy, that's what players told me, because they simply hate the staff members too. What makes the staff members so dumb af? They ban legal players. How do i know this? I've reported 20+ players with 2 of my forums account while over half of them had no reason at all for a report xD I remember this one time, when we went to do ludi PQ with friends, we had so much fun while messing and joking around. This wannabe amateur came to us and started acting tough. Nobody got hurt but we felt bad afterwards for report banning him for nothing

Just posting this here to remind everyone of how much of a hypocrit you really are since everything in your apology post was a lie, which you have proven yourself over and over again.
I think we've all seen enough of you for now, and since you are officially banned from this server I see no point in having you around here anymore.

As a person whose played both servers to a "large" extent I can simply tell you that legends will always win in the nostalgia factor. It's definitely undisputable, sorry royals. As to why Legends is dying, it is the reason royals shines. Legends staff has done little to update the server as the head coder has gotten an irl job as of the summer of 2015. They refused to listen to the community on how to improve, and are only now starting to attempt to listen, only its too late. One of the biggest things royals has over legends is an endgame where there is an availibity to always get stronger. Over on legends, after the first gach revamp, MANY scrolls went missing and we've had a few scrolls reach ROYALS LEVEL prices (keep in mind the ratio of mesos here to legends is about 6-7 : 1 when compared off leech). We suggested being able to farm said missing scrolls by adding them to the drop table, which is extremely easy to do if you are somewhat competent in coding. After a few months they finally have a poll on what they should do to improve the economy in which the MAJORITY of the community vote to have farmable scrolls. Instead we end up going with an option the staff wants. At that point the only thing keeping the hardcore players still playing was horntail. After my guild Project cleared the first ht there wasnt much left to do. A few of us got "perma" banned, which has been already revoked, we decided to come here and try royals out and immediately noticed the simplicity of the server which ends up being another strength of royals. ANYONE can rise to the top. It takes like a week or 2 to get a new attacker back at a sizable level where it would take months to get a useful attacker (not counting gearing). The server has a LARGE population which has formed a very social community, whereas legends was more cliche based. The economy here is absolutely beautiful as I jizzed while frolicking through the market as there was everything i could dream of having on legends, only flaw being of course having everything at a said price. Royals is so popular because it has everything established but has enough space for you to do just about anything in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately royals has yet to capture the true nostalgic experience I experienced on legends. It was clear from the start that royals was and felt like a private server. Grinding was a lot faster than I was used to and the amount of drops were ridiculous to what I'd expect from old school gms. As I grew on I learned there was no such thing as guild loyalty and never really felt the same family-like vibe I did from legends. Nonetheless royals is still a great server to be on but I honestly believe had legends continued on the path they were set out on, they would have given royals a run for its money.

I started playing MS in 2006, a year after you and so I fully sympathize with and understand the fun we had; the challenge to survive rog on the ship, getting stuck in orbis, seeing who could get further get in El Nath before dying etc, those were great times.

However, I took a break because of school and came back perhaps when Buc started. For me, ks wars at Harpies and stealing Harpie Steelies rather than Red Drake Steelies was a new nostalgic experience, the music/OST definitely brought back some feels etc.

While I lived through the times we'd have ks wars as lvl 60 sins at Golem Temple I definitely enjoyed not wasting my life grinding for 15 hours for 60-61.

Big Bang did change some things for the worse, I agree with you, but the whole point of Buc's post was you have your opinion, he has his opinion and OP has his opinion because we all played at different times, have different experiences and thus, have a different interpretation of what a ''nostalgia'' is. Everyone is unique and had their own unique experiences, EVEN IF, someone is pay2win that's their prerogative and issue; no point whining about it, after all the game devs need to eat too.
