Hi Does anyone of you is following the tech news? I have to buy a new screen, but im not actually sure what do I want. I'm looking for something that its made specially for FPS games (CS:GO). I've done the reading, soo I came up with two models: Older one, Asus VG248QE cheaper and seems fine enough for me (im also really asus rog fanboy) But BenQ have also something to say, the review of BenQ XL2420TE just amazed me, im not sure if thats not a commercial trick, but im really excited. (Actually I want to buy "BenQ 24" 3D LED XL2420Z", but I couldnt find any useful and interesting videos, except unboxing to show.) Maybe you could advice me a little, I'll order probably on of these in about 2 weeks, so we have some time to debate, or maybe you will clear my mind and come up with something better
I always test monitors with fighting games. If I can do combos the monitor is fine. I can't perform combos on monitors with bad input delay or response time despite it being all muscle memory, delay will throw me off. I haven't played FPS since CRT monitors were the standard so I can't really help you out on this. :/
both are great monitors and you cant go wrong with either purchase. go for w.e is cheaper. ive also heard news on a 1440p 120hz monitor by asus.
You gotta have a damn good machine to fully utilize that refresh rate with today's games. Response time is killer though.
I've built my gaming station like 8 months ago. It's based on: Asus Maximus VI Hero with i5 4670k 4.5Ghz CPU Cooled by Silverstone Tundra TD02, Corsair Dominator GT 2000mhz 12gb it's also enough for me to just play games and I've decided to take Corsair AX760i PSU to keep it stable. I had GTX 560 that Riot gave me as a prize for some contest last year, but it wasn't enough to keep me satisfied, so I have ordered GTX 770 DirectCU II, Any of my old hdd's couldnt deal with a quick start (It took ages to boot) so I ended up with a new Kingston HyperX 3k 120gb that was just released, now it takes like 20sec to restart pc + I have 4 old HDD's (6TB Total, already 3/4 space in use) So probably this year im just going to change a graphic card and buy a new hdd. P.S After 10th of May im also going to order TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 ASUS PCE-AC68 AC1900 Wireless Adapter Because Last year when I have been in that Hotel (working) internet was breaking every 15min, so I couldnt even talk on skype. Spoiler
Lol I literally bought the same router today (or pretty similar). tp-link is a surprisingly good brand and excellent value.
TP-Link, yes indeed it is AC or N standard ? I was thinking about Asus AC66U, but I dont want to pay that much. P.S I'm looking forward to see a short review.
Ah, the one I bought was the TD-W8970. It isn't for me, but for one of my clients (A retail outlet with 2 floors). They just need the fast ethernet (gigabit ports) and a pretty good range for some mobile devices. I will be installing it and working with it for a while so will tell you what it is like.
Unboxed my TD-W8970, set it up, and got it going in under 3 minutes. Impressive ethernet connection speeds, espeically for transferring files across the network. Wi-fi speeds are also very good and the router has an excellent strength signal covering 2 floors of a large shop, even with going through multiple concrete walls. Range is probably about 25 metres. A good buy for £35 on eBay. Can't really complain about anything.
thanks for comments, decided to buy 27' BenQ XL2720Z, its amazing. If anyone will read this thread, I totally recommend it. Same as TP Link Archer C7 & Asus AC68U Wi Fi Adapter, ordered also Cooler Master Trigger Z, amazing keyboard (Cherry MX Brown are fantastic, mechanical keyboards are really worth their price 5/5) P.S Now, I just need a new camera
Mechanical keyboards are definitely worth it although some are still very over priced. Earlier this year I switched to Cherry MX Reds and have never been more pleased with a keyboard. I feel like once you go mechanical, you never go back. I have typed on a couple regular keyboards after making the switch to mechanical and thought they felt absolutely disgusting. ;p
Actually it's way more smooth, bright and sharp than any other monitors that I had. I don't really know about pixels that you are talking about xd Honestly 27' 1080p & max details in game, gave me terrific sensation, maybe it's just a placebo effect, but I play way better (won many more matches since I got it, than on 22' that I left in Poland), I can clearly see more.
All that matters is that you are pleased with what you have. Disregard the comment from the videophile.
