Due to the noisy nature of these descriptions it is an immense bother to look for NX equipment that you want, be it from the Cash Shop or the Donator Shop. So what I'm proposing is that we filter out some of the noise and redundancy in NX descriptions, specifically those pertaining to whichever class of equipment a particular NX item is capable of masking. I.e., instead of these, Spoiler (I mean, look at that! I'm here to buy something sexy for my gunslinger, not play Twenty Questions!) We get these instead: Spoiler (Much easier on the eyes, no?) I hope that it isn't too massive an undertaking, though later versions of Maplestory adopt the latter style of description so that ought to ease the load in editing the string.wz.
I guess that would be fine, so long as all the class equips are included in the item description, I would like to know if my weapon is able to be used by all the NX items that are able to be equiped. I am more lenient towards not changing the descriptions, since it would take some work to go through all the NX items, when admins could be spending this time working on other things.
I am sure that the staff know which tasks are time-consuming and by extension know how to prioritise pending tasks. I am unsure as to what you mean by your first concern though, that is: "as long as all the class equips are included in the item description, I would like to know if my weapon is able to be used by all the NX items which are able to be equipped". Both styles of description convey the exact same amount of information, just that the latter is far more streamlined and rid of redundancy. Basically, instead of saying: "my 2-month old child is not a girl, not a hermaphrodite, not a panda, nor a rabid goose," you say "my 2-month old child is a boy."
I would really like these changes to be implemented if possible. The current way things are described is very offputting.
I believe that the extra jobs are added to the descriptions via the XML's and identified by certain job ID's. I think there may possibly be a way to do a mass 'find and replace' with the specific job ID's to remove them. If that is possible (or something similar) it may not be as hard or time consuming as it seems. If not possible it may indeed be very time consuming. This is still a good suggestion albeit quite trivial.
Whilst you're at it, could I possibly compel you to undo the White Candy conundrum? (See this and this.)
White Candy was unfortunately its name in later versions, but it's a wholly ridiculous and inconsistent name for it.
Not before big bang, I don't think. It is certainly still called White Valentine Rose in the preserved version of Hidden-Street.
Yea, it was probably from a much later version. Some of the names we're using (eg hair/face names) are from v.14x
