I know that this is extremely late, hi. My name is Manny. Friends and I would always joined and play on private servers. Once we were bored, we would not touch the game again for a couple of months. One of those time, a couple of my friends wanted to play again and searched around for a new server. I remember my friends hyping a server up because it was constantly having 100 players online and had a recent wipe. They urged me to play. At this time, I was thinking to not playing the game again, I already knew what was going to happen. We would play the game, get bored, and stop playing the game. I figured, why even play. After some time of them asking, I was finally convinced and I joined MR around late November, early December of 2013. At the start, it was the usual thing, friends and I would play together and never really try to get close with the rest of the community. After some time of playing the server and meeting different individuals, I started to open up a bit more. I began to form friendships, and tried to be a part of the community and be involved as much as possible. I started to look for ways to help the server staff, and ways to improve the experience of players. On Feb 10 2014 I applied to become part of staff. Time zone: EST -5 Location: Canada When did you join?: Late November What do you like most about MapleRoyals?: First is the community, it is filled with various individuals that all have their own story. There are individual from different parts of the world and are at different points in their lives that allow us to view the exact same thing in different perspectives. I also like that even with a group of individuals that are so different we can all find a way to come and play and enjoy MapleRoyals Second is more personal, MapleRoyals has become a way for me to blow some steam, and momentarily escape all the problems that real life has to offer, for example school, work, and such. Finally is the staff, I have met people that have a negative image on the staff members due to the fact that they don’t get everything right away, or something was “unfair”. I personally admire some of the staff members because I know that at some point were players just like myself, and decided that they would take the game they like/love and find a way to help out and make it better for everyone else. Which languages do you speak and how well?: My best languages are English, and Spanish, French is okay atm, getting better. What is your main focus in life?: As of now, I would like to finish my program, and I would like to get a job in the field of customs/immigration. Do you have any prior work experience in real life? If so, where?: In the summer I work with the city I live in as a parks keeper, and also work at a sports arena for events such as: hockey games, basketball games, concerts, cheer-leading event, and other events. How many hours a week do you work?: Right now I go to school more than I work, in the summer time it changes. Are you in any form of education?: I finished High school, finished a 2 year program at a College, and I am currently in the 1st year of a 4 year program at a University Do you have a spouse or any kids?: Nope Do you have any other commitments?: Family, School work, and work. Have you ever played any of the official MapleStory(s)?: Which one?: yes, GMS How long?: 2003-200? Not sure when I stopped playing, but it was when maplestory started changing too much. If no, why not? N/A Are you more comfortable working alone or on a team? For the beginning I would like to work as a team in order to learn the ins and outs of being a GM on MapleRoyals. Once I get the hang of it I will be able to work either as a team, or by myself. What skills or unique qualities will you be bringing with you to the Royals team? From some of the problems that some of the individuals go through I know patience is a quality that is needed, due to the fact I am trilingual even just a bit, I would be able to deal the issues that people who are not that well in English. I am able to work quickly and independently once I know how to perform the tasks, would be able to help other GM’s out in any issues they are encountering, and try to find a faster solution to the problems. I am someone who is approachable, and enjoy helping others. Besides those listed above, what do you believe to be important qualities of a Game Master? I believe that a GM should be someone that can talk to anyone, and can help with any issues that someone might be dealing with. A GM must maintain some sort of a professional image. A GM should also be someone who is fairly known by the community. Why do you want to work with us?: Like I said before, the staff members are those who were once players, and decided that they could bring what they have to the server and help it grow and succeed. That is something that I want to do, I want to be able to help other people in this server have a great experience, just like I have/ a better experience. I want to be part of the great staff community, some I already know but wouldn't mind getting to know each other better. I noticed that for GM events the prize list was not very helpful. it only gave the names of the items available but as a player, I knew that seeing the actual item would be nice. That is when I decided to help out a bit and make the Event Prizes list. I also noticed that there was a lack of events . The server was going through some issues and it took the staffs time to work on them and away from hosting events. I noticed many players complaining about not having in game events, and I agreed with some. Events to me are one of the best features a private server can have, but I also understood that getting the server to run properly is a lot more important. As a player, I knew that there was something I could do to try and make MR a more enjoyable place for players. I wasn't the wealthiest player at all (or will be), but I was willing to give away my possessions to better their experience on the server. At this time I began to host my own Community Events I was lucky to have won a quite bit of events myself in the past, and got the support of individuals to have this running for a little while. On June 2014 I was accepted to staff, since then I've been trying to keep MR an enjoyable place for everyone, with helping players in game, and sharing ideas I would some day like to be made part of the game. I also got really interested in twitch, and streaming. I love the idea of entertaining people and sharing the experience of playing a game, whether it be a new game, or an old game. since then I have been really passionate about it, and try to do it on a daily basis. Nothing has really changed since then, I am still very passionate about bettering the experience of new and old players on the server. I still want to bring new ideas that could be implemented into the game for you all to have fun with, and of course, I still enjoy streaming a variety of games and having fun with those who choose to join me. MR has become quite a big part of my life, I've formed friendships with a lot of great individuals around the world, I am also part of an amazing Guild filled with tremendous individuals. The bond that has been made within the guild has allowed us to do something that I and maybe others never thought we would do. On January 2016, the guild had their first meet up in New York City, a couple of us rented an Airbnb and stayed together for a couple of days. we thought it was such a success and enjoyed ourselves so much that we are currently in the middle of planning our next bigger, and better meet up. Some of these individuals that I've met throughout my time playing on the server have helped me in times of need, times I felt lost, and times I had no idea what to do with myself. I know I am terrible with wording things but, thank you all so much, you all mean a lot to me. It always bring me back to the time when I wasn't going to join the server. I'm grateful that I did.
