Back in 2010 or so, I was living in Hong Kong and was unable to play GMS due to IP restrictions. At that time, I found Wonderking as a replacement for Maplestory and thoroughly enjoyed it before it shut down. Although it was a game I started because I missed Maplestory, it ultimately grew onto me as more than a replacement, and when I recently found out that Korea launched WK ver.2 in 2013, I decided to give the game a shot I was wondering if there are other people on Royals who used to play WK - so far the only people I know who played are @Eli and @2Epic For people who don't know about this game and are wondering just how similar it is: Spoiler: Video It's basically a grind-heavy oriented game similar to Maplestory, with flashy skills and more skill combo usage compared to one-skill spam. The bossing scene is a bit lackluster in comparison to Maple, unfortunately.
I played this too! It had some very smooth controls and jumping physics compared to Maple (you could double jump and also wall slide similar to Megaman X games). Better graphics and better UI than Maple too. The music was also very good, I still really like this moody little opening title track: RIP WonderKing
I played WK for quite sometime too, but ended up replacing the game with Dragonica and Dream Of Mirror online. Both those two have been shutdown as well.
Wow this is a blast from the past, I used to play this when I got tired of MS. I remember all those flashy dragon-fire-amazing-backflip skills.
When I was sick of the Maple Grindstory I would play Wonder Grind, slit my mighty wrists when it shut down, I was one sad piece of life.
