Alright awesome! No luck so far but I'll find one eventually.

 

So I got help killing it, and no manon's cry dropped, but people keep telling me that I don't need the drop, I just need to kill it in order to complete the quest for the horntail transformation potion.

But I still can't complete the quest, what do? :OO

 

You need the cry to complete the quest. As to why it doesn't drop:

1. It doesn't drop every time
2. The attacker who did most of the damage remained in the map when manon died, and did not have the same quest as you open

As of the last patch you do not need a cry, just to be in a party & kill the manon.
