I don't know if it's just me but having holy symbol with a duration of 120 seconds only is annoying for me. I'm not suggesting a big buff but having a duration of at least 3 minutes instead of 2 would be great. thanks
i'm not suggesting making it stronger just longer i don't see why there would be anything negative about that
I understand that, but you missed my point. HS is quite a strong buff to start off with, the drawback is it lasting somewhat short. If you take that drawback away, it would just become more OP.

I disagree. It's already an OP buff, I see no reason to make it even longer just to make things more convenient for people. It gives you access to the highest exp in the game, you should have to work for it a little. It's a minor inconvenience in exchange for high exp payout. If it was increased, I would hope to see an exp nerf to go along with it as there is no reason for one skill to stand out so much.
Better yet, make every single skill buffs have the same duration. All 3 minutes across when maxed, GGWP. Sometimes, I really question the decision of original developer at Wizet/Nexon that make different skills have different durations. Like, what's the actual reason for that? So that people recast their skills more often???
When making these kind of threads you should state why you think 2 minutes is a short duration and why 3 minutes would be a better choice. Saying "is annoying for me" isn't a good reason at all to make a change.
SE is an incredibly broken buff and it lasts 6 minutes. Point is increasing the duration will not make priests or bishops better than they already are. There won't be a sudden spurt of people making priests because HS' duration changed from 2 minutes to 3 minutes. It literally only adds convenience to the game so I don't a see a problem. But at the same time, it is such a minor change that I am not sure if it is really worthwhile.
Pretty much everyone has a priest already, because of HS. Another reason not to is that not everything should be as convenient as possible, that destroys the game. If we start with this, then where does it end? why not increase the duration to even longer? On a side note, se last 5 minutes and is only available after getting to 4th job, whilst hs is available at 3rd job, which makes it a whole lot easier to get.
If you want to turn it that way.... Hyper Body is a 2nd job skill which is getting buffed from 155 secs to 300 secs duration. And reason is : longer duration for convenience
How would a little more convenience destroy the game? If HS gives 500% experience instead of 150% it would destroy the game, increasing the duration would not. As for Point is that 120 seconds is too short for a level 30 party buff skill. In comparison, most other party buff skills last twice as long or more. There is no reason HS needs to be different on its own.
why stop there, let's make all buffs last forever it's not like they have a cooldown or anything, how's that for convenience
Uh, do you realize Royals already incorporates a lot of changes for convenience purposes? Able to teleport to FM pretty much from anywhere, travelling to other continents without boarding the ship, and skipping the dice roll at character creation just to name a few... OP's suggestion to buff HS duration doesn't cut even close to any of these changes in terms of the level of convenience offered. It's a perfectly sensible suggestion to make.
Genesis, Meteor Shower and Blizzard, three OP AOE skills not having cooldown = EZ LEVEL UP! EZ LEECH SERVICE! NO PROBLEM! Holy Symbol, lv30 party skill, has extremely short duration. Suggestion for it to be extended = WOW Blasphemy! HS is already OP skill it will break the game zomfg!!1 Nice double standard there. Need I remind you that other OP skills, such as Hyper Body, Sharp Eyes, Speed Infusion, all have 300 seconds duration at lv30? Really, don't see the reason behind HS having such a low duration at all. It makes zero sense to have players keep on recasting the skill over and over before the other skills even run out half of their duration time.
The skills and buffs are in the same state as they were on GMS in v62 back in the days, and isn't something we've altered as far as I'm aware. So all the buff durations have been decided a very long time ago by Nexon and with that they decided that Holy Symbol should not have as long of a duration as Speed Infusion and Sharp Eyes (which both are 4th job skills). As for Hyper Body, it actually only has a 155 seconds duration rather than a 300 seconds one. However this changed around v72 which is why MapleRoyals will have this change implemented in the new source. Holy Symbol stayed at 120 seconds until over a year after Big Bang was released, when they changed it to 180 seconds but also changed a lot of other skills so the balance was different. With that said, I don't see why we should take the Holy Symbol from a version way past Big Bang while not doing this for other classes their skills. Besides, it's not like Bishops are in a bad position anyway?
Then why remove the cooldown duration on Genesis, Blizzard, and Meteor Shower? That's not how it was in GMS v62. Party buffs having different buff duration didn't make any sense to begin with. There's literally no sense in it. What's the idea behind it? Tell me a good one. It really just makes priest and bishop players repeatedly recasting the spell over and over again.
