Hi guys, I have been an active player in Royals before but the frequent disconnections I had during boss runs made me quit for awhile because I basically DC every single time I do zak. After being inactive from Royals, I went to a v83 server and they did something that actually can solve this problem. (Not sure if this works here in this server) What they did was that they made players who have been disconnected from the game due to GFX to rewarp into the boss runs automatically when they log in to the game again. Apparently dying during the run disables the ability to do so, you will be transferred to the nearest town as usual if you attempt to DC yourself during the run. I will definitely return to Royals if the issue with GFX in boss runs no longer exists after the new source update. HYPE for the new source in 5 days
I remember this being discussed a while back. As lovely as it would be to have this option available to us, there would be no way of knowing if someone dc'd due to graphical errors or dc'd on purpose in order to log back in during the end of the run. Wonder how your other server found a way around this.
I think dc'd due to graphical errors or dc'd on purpose will allow the player to connect back, never tried to dc on purpose though. I don't know about that, but dying in the run will not bring you back to the boss map even if you dc on purpose. Or maybe they can have like a timer (like 3mins?) to reconnect back to the game if the player dc'd?

The discussions was about asking a GM to rewarp players or refund losses and such. But I was wondering if they can allow players to automatically rewrap to the boss run if the dc'd. Perhaps to have a time limit for them to be able to rewrap in.
As shona said a system like this could be quite abusable, unless they for sure find a way to tell if its a gfx error crash or just an alt f4 (which i dont think is possible). Ive played some on a server where they had this system, and it was pretty stupid imo. Seduced? Alt f4 Low on pots? Alt f4, repot and reenter. Wanna go afk? Alt f4 Think we're better of as it is now, unless as i said earlier, they find a way to know for sure if its a gfx error dc or anything else, then it couldve been possible with a system like that
Read the whole thread, the discussions start midway through and I think a lot of ideas were brought up.
As mentioned above, this idea has already been discussed and said it would not be implemented because it is incredibly abuseable. Furtheremore, there is no reason to try and implement this at this point in time because the new source, which is supposed to be out in a few days, is supposed to get rid of dc issues.
