Alright. I've been seeing posts like this for a pretty long time. Now I'm not gonna be a twat, but the staff is just doing their job. They've been promising this source for a while now, we can thank them for taking good care of us and giving us a stable server, but the patch is not something they should be praised this much for.
Took a year break tho, so I dont know what it's been like last year, but all these ass suckers are annoying.

 

My sentiments exactly. I think as a server that thrives on its community, we will certainly benefit from more updates on the progress of the new sauce. It's been difficult to be optimistic over the year due to a lack of communication and now after being promised a release date, we're facing waves of delays.

Of course they should take their time to go over the problems once more and make sure that the transition goes swimmingly but those are the things they should have considered before announcing the release date. You'd think after all this time the team would have learned to come out with a better time estimate. Now everyone is riled up because no maple no life.

This incompetency is definitely something that should be condemned and not praised. I think the staff needs to take a look at themselves in the mirror and repent the sins they have committed because we may forgive, but we never forget. Regardless, for all of us who live at their mercy, let's try to be grateful for as long as the server doesn't get shut down or disappear from the internet suddenly.

Not my fault I have a well paying job and I'm generous with my money. They're working on a free to play game rather than enjoying long holiday weekends and all you have in response to their efforts is to be a twat? They're not doing they're jobs as they aren't paid for this. But extra donations and knowing the hosting fees are paid would sure take a load off of their plates.

 

Frankly, even though I've been around here for less than 2 months; thus far, I am tremendously grateful for the work done by the small staff here.

I do not think it is correct for some posters to characterize supportive players' behavior as obsequious. I do not think the supportive players have anything to gain by kowtowing to the staff here. Even if one could argue that displaying positive behavior would be considered favorably during staff applications, I think this chance is too remote and speculative.

A distinction can be made between obsequious behavior in an attempt to jockey for a higher station in the community and a general understanding and patient attitude toward the staff. Regardless of a minority's belligerent and impatient attitude, their sentiments have little to no contribution to the efficiency at which the maintenance is being carried out.

The server runs on donations which does not give any donators any right to certain services. If any, donations give donators limited privileges of having access to the items in the Donor's Shop. To echo the view of the poster above, players are not obligated to donate to the enterprise. The game does not run on a subscription-basis, where save for a clause in the subscription agreement, players may have a justifiable and reasonable expectation of timely delivery of quality services. In light of this simple fact, no player in this community has a reasonably justifiable claim against routine game updates and timely updates at that.

I surmise that most staff and developers have full-time jobs outside their roles as administrators of MR. They are caught in an enviable position: on one hand, if the maintenance is done hastily, players would foreseeably complain about various bugs plaguing the new source patch. Yet on the other hand, as we've seen, any delay also incited the ire of some members of this community.

Lastly, I am more concerned about a possible legal claim from N. shutting down the entire operation altogether.

In sum, we should continue to be patient toward the maintenance staff here. Just enjoy the game while the community is still around. I've seen worse game launches and patches from bigger corporate entities with a much larger budget and a more diverse staff than those on MR.

 

I'm much more forgiving of people who decide to kiss ass over those who feel being rude and condescending towards Matt and the rest of the Admins, about something they're literally playing for free

Matt could have been fine with 300 players 3 years ago and left the server running on the old shit source, hell its a private server, these things dont last forever. But here we are 2 years later and a handful of VOLUNTEERS put in a shit load of time to build an entire game from scratch because they felt pride and an obligation to the community for being here and some people still have to piss in their cheerio's.

Just a suggestion, can we have a countdown timer for service online? Because this is a international service,right? GMT for me ,need convert to understand.
